If McClintock keeps up his ego trip and Ah-Noldt either wins or loses to Bustamante then McClintock's future in politics is dead in the water forever.

McClintock has a great shot at a long term career as a US Senator from California but he will never get enough votes from Republicans and Conservatives if he plays the Perot/McCain card this year.

He will get not RNC money for Senate campaigns and get no backing in a Senate election.

Count on it.

I'm not interested in self-annointed Conservative gurus experts that have a "my way or the highway" political philosophy.

Their style of politics let California turn into a left-wing bankrupt anarchist hell over time.

Both the Republican and democrat party have had these egotists that run every four years for the United States Presidency with no practical or logical chance of ever even winning the nomination.

Simon and McClintock have had years to advance their agendas and enhance their resumes.

They blew it.

It is a childlike faith that allows one to bet on the long shot that never has one the big race.

McClintock is no dark horse ringer on steroids sandbagging the field and the betters.

When McClintock became a man he needed to put away his childish toys on the shelf.

Allmost - If McClintock WINS he will not be able to push through his policies against a Dem legislature, and he will not have any coattails to bring more Reps in come next election ( which he probably would not survive since he cannot fix anything )
With Gov. Arnolds help against Boxer he may yet salvage a career.

Arnold MAY be able to get some things pointed in the right direction and can inspire Reps to actally win in the next election.

I really am not getting nervous until we get into Late September/Early Octiber in the same situation-- Arnold within margin for error of Bustamante, and McClintock still thinking that he has a shot

Do you know anything about Tom McClintock? Or his history as a legislator? Tom was the youngest person ever elected to the California Assembly in 1982, he was 26 then.

He has served in California in various positions since then. He is well known for his maverick style and devotion to principle, he answers to no one. His campaign funds copme from mostly small, individual donors. It would be close to impossible for this imaginary powers-that-be force that everyone keeps invoking, to hold any sway over the man.

If you want to see "left-wing bankrupt anarchist hell," destroy the Republican party in California by electing someone from the other side as its head.

With the "Arnold Party" we will learn just how many, devoted profamily, progun, prolife voters there are by their absence when they start failing to show up to vote for the new breed of (R)mocrats you are wishing upon our state.
