"1994 - Proposition #184: Three-strikes, life imprisonment for repeat felons.
1994 - Proposition #187: Cut off state funds for Illegal Aliens.
1996 - Proposition #209: Ended statewide Affirmative Action
1998 - Proposition #227: Ended bilingual education
2000 - Proposition #22: Defined marriage as one man - one woman.

These aren't moderate stances that passed overwhelmingly. These don't appeal to both sides, and they don't straddle any fences."

OF COURSE they appeal to both sides... That's how they got passed !

( don't Reps Learn ANYTHING from success ? )

Moral cowards are not admired. Dana Rohrbacher ought to be ashamed of himself. Any YAF leader as he was knows better than to sell out to celebrity.

Perhaps you ought to reconsider your position. Rohrabacher did not "sell out", he supports Schwarzenegger.

"Keeping the Democrats from power."

... and if that is the only thing that Arnold does... bury Davis and wound Bustamante, it will be enough...

. . . instead of . . . trying to influence Arnoldn's policies

You don't think that by staying in at this point he's influencing Arnold's policies?

But the moment McClintock leaves the race, Shwarzenfathead will have NO incentive to listen to conservative views but will arrogantly ignore everyone but his fawing liberal advisors as his sycophants and toadies croon his praises in the moonlight.

It sure isn't getting Bustamante elected!

McSpolier knows he is toast.
His only potential is to split the conservative vote and give the election to Bustamante.
People will not forget this in the future when he wants votes again. He may be limiting his political future for good with his behavior in this race.

Do you think Arnold will bail out and throw his support to McClintock?

"You can tell liberals and leftists know they are right because they scream and hate everything."
yup... first you describe the enemy... good start.
and in the very next sentence: "... damn, Neo-con, RINO, ChiCom-lovers like you! "--directed at freeper palpatine of course.
Then you prove who the "real enemy" is by fulfiling your own definition referenced not even two sentances earlier...
Mr. "they scream and hate everything" Texas_Dawg. You indeed have proven once again that you are indeed the "TRUE conservative."

brilliant... truly brilliant.
roflmao...
Scoot that left foot over a little, and you might be able to make room for the right one...

He's doing the right thing. There is no shame or dishonor in that, regardless of the consequences.

Hopefully Tom ( and Peter) will stay in a bit longer and deflect a little of the Dems heat - but I didn't see Pete's supporters coming out with the venom against a fellow Republican that Tom's are ( what was Ronnie's rule? )

Tom is burning a lot of bridges if he is actually backing his supporters attacks against Arnold.

Dear Arizona,
I am quite certain that I have given you pause as well by pointing out the obvious, that you are out of line trying to shove a stealth candidate down our throats, hence your "Hm"

But I'm sure since that "Out-of-State know it all" agrees with your pov, it is quite welcome. True?

Actually, that is gospel truth. But hold on, there is a difference, you see he is argueing for conservatism-so he can be from where he might. You are on the other hand argueing for moderation, even liberalism, merely because you think you "know" the issues on the ground well enough to make that assessment, which you patently do not or you wouldn't argue such an obsurdity. This is real life, this is jobs and income, not a powerplay for the magic of the letter 'R'

You better get used to the fact that I will continue to call "Out-Of-State know it alls" on that contradiction.

Tom McClintock has been carrying our torch for years while Arnold was off enriching himself!

We shall see if your arguments make sense to the plurality of Californians voting in October.

what does the California Congressional delegation look like and to what extent does its make up confirm your rebuttal that California is a conservative state, not a liberal state?

Great question. I'll answer you question with a question (I hate that, but if fits) how do those same questions apply to the state of Texas? Is that state liberal?

What is causing Texas to have so many Demo seats (and why they are fighting in unprecidented ways)is the same thing that is causing CA to have Demos. Why do we dislike government? Once you get things institutionalized, its hard to get them out.

OK, the one word answer; Redistricting.

Incedentally, we are up for redistricting in 2010 FYI. If, or should I say when(R)nold fails to implement draconian cuts in spending and taxes and have a hiring freeze of state employees-basically when he doesn't follow the one single model to get us out of debt; Reaganomics, we will have the GOP blamed for everything Gray gave us and lose the governorship in '06, which is precisely why you see all these "news" stories about how "the Republicans" must rally behind (R)nold, yet they never quote McClintock as to who is supposedly calling him. They know McClintock has what it takes, and he is last one they want to face, so they call him "irrelevant" just like Pete Wilson did when he stood up to his tax increases that turned a $3billion deficit into an at the time largest deficit ever $14 billion. We have but one choice, Tom wins, or (R)nold or Cruz wins and we all lose.

Bullhocky, if he ends up being a spoiler that gets Bustamante elected by staying in this race and splitting the conservative vote, then he is through in this state.
He will have proved he considers himself more important than the whole state and not a team player for the people.

If he keeps his cross-eyed self in this race much longer his future is bleak!

Literally, they would rather be "right" than "elected".

This is not too different than the 19 Muslims who choose to be "right" rather than "living" on 9/11.

"I hope the blame gets placed squarely on McClintock's shoulders when his fat ego ends up causing the state of California to slide into the Pacific Ocean!"

... and so what ? If he cared he would be planing on the best way to help California, not just the best way to hurt anyone in his way.

Hewlett already said Tom knows he has lost and refuses to get out of the race anyway thinking this is good for his future.

I think this will show he is no good for California's future and if he gets Bustamante elected by splitting the vote when the other side is not split...well...McSpoiler's future is over as well.

People will remember and hate him, except for the Democrats of course.
