Exactly. I am totally in line with McClintock's positions. However, Tom cannot and will not win. Purists insisting on supporting McClintock do not understand politics (the art of the possible) and are not listening to Arnold. His news conference this week was a Reaganesque TOUR DE FORCE-(note Reaganesque doe not mean I confuse Arnold for Ronald Maximus). I heard one veteran pol reporter state that she has rarely in her career seen a politician control a room like Arnold did. He makes Davis look less than a school girl, and Bustamante the utter baffoon he is. Arnold comes from a different place than we would like. But do you all realize how involved he has been with the libertarian Reason Foundation. Nothing he has said would indicate Arnold is anything other than a to the core conservative with respect to fiscal matters. If we are really to have significant (revolutionary) structual economic reform in this State, we must have a leader who can shove the looney libs in Sacto on their kiesters, go directly to the people and GET IT DONE! As wonderful as McClintock is, he is not that leader.

An excellent, realistic, level headed analysis of the situation.

Rather similar to sentiments I felt with Alan Keyes in '96 and 2000. Yet, Keyes chose to hang on to a very bitter end, and showed himself to be a poor loser.

I hope McClintock conducts himself better. He'll benefit himself and the party if he does. Dr. Keyes shot himself in the foot. What a shame.
