McClintock has run ahead of Simon in recent polls but as yet to capture even 10 percent Californians support. In the most recent statewide Field Poll, McClintock had 9 percent to Simon's eight percent.

"Bill Simon voters are McClintock voters, they're not Schwarzenegger voters," said Joe Giardiello, state southern California director of the McClintock campaign. "This is very good news for Tom."

17% is not enough to beat the Dems

Exactly. I am totally in line with McClintock's positions. However, Tom cannot and will not win.

Rather similar to sentiments I felt with Alan Keyes in '96 and 2000. Yet, Keyes chose to hang on to a very bitter end, and showed himself to be a poor loser.

I hope McClintock conducts himself better. He'll benefit himself and the party if he does. Dr. Keyes shot himself in the foot. What a shame.
