"I don't see how from now until Election Day, Schwarzenegger is regarded as anything other than the front-runner," Giardiello said. "But Tom believes his economic message is the best one for this state."

Top Schwarzenegger aides said they are impressed with McClintock's ideas on rolling back the tripling of the car tax, instantly renegotiating the state's long-term energy contracts, reforming the workman's compensation system, and eliminating all duplicative state spending."

I think what would be best for CA AND McClintock is if he withdrew, supported Arnold, and accepted a position in Arnold's administration, or worked with Arnold from the CA Legilature, where he is now, then in 2008 Tom could run as a very credible candidate with broader support, as one, who was instrumental in turning CA around.

Conversely, if McClintock insists on staying in to the bitter end, and if Arnold loses, by about the margin, which went to McClintock, I doubt the Republican Party will be very forgiving.

I've seen several Dem hacks on TV trashing Arnold, saying he is not the "true Republican" or a conservative. Just as Davis spent $10 million to trash Riordan during the 2002 pubbie primary, look for the Dems to tout McClintock in the recall.

The best thing for CA would be if Schwarzenrino dropped out and went back to making bad movies.

He's not in it to win, he's in it for ego.

Then he can say he lost in 2002 and 2003. Woo hoo!

It was Ross Perot who gave us Bill Clinton. Absent Perot, Clinton would have lost.

Circumstances could change,

That is a possibility, isn't it?

Wow Fair...Nice post!!!

Not demeaning, not a rant, just...nice...

Other than the part about McClintock dropping out, or the main point you were attempting, I agree with you...you were civil!!!

As I have told you before, if Tom is nowhere to be found, say three weeks out, then I will go Arnold...how about you, if Tom is about even with Arnold three weeks out, what are you going to do??? (Trick question here, note that at that point McClintock will have all the momentum...).

BTW: Where do you fall in the political spectrum? I will gladly tell you, I am on the far right...(guns, life, less government, protect our borders, etc.).

"Tom's in this race to stay," said Joe Giardiello, southern California director for the Schwarzenegger campaign.

Tom's gotta go. He can't win. Nice guy, nice try. But he could never win. He'll quit is one week.

Hello:

Will McClintock also have the moderate vote? Will he have the dummy vote from those just voting so they can vote for the "Terminator"?

Now that is an intangible, I have not considered...will people vote for the "Terminator" cause its neat...good question, don't have an answer to that one...

I think it serves a purpose to call Arnold a RINO. If more people think he is moderate instead of conservative, he has a better chance of getting elected.

I have tried, sometimes not very successfully, to not call Arnold a RINO (I know I have blown that time and again, because it is easy to do...). I have also tried not to tear him down, because I believe he would make a good second choice (McClintock being the first choice). However, you may be right, maybe calling him a RINO would help his chances...
