Yes, the book for this month we picked was Linnea in Monet's Garden by Christina Bjork and Lena Anderson. We read the book, had the same foods they had in their picnic for snack, discuss the book and then painted. I bought canvas for all the kids and we had water colors, oil paints and sketch pencil's for everyone to 'try'.

The boys lost attention pretty quick. The girls did very well.

Next month, our them is Apples. Apple picking at the far, then baking sauce and pie.

The book, of course! Johnny Appleseed.

That just sounds SO interesting. What a wonderful experience for kids. And the Apple theme sounds like fun too.

I am going to be spending a week at my cousin ranch north of Sacramento in September. She tells me that the hot apple dumplings at the Apple Festival up there are to die for. I can't wait!
