As someone who live fairly close to this area, I can tell you that domestic disputes like this are routine.

Police are authorized to use deadly force if they are threatened.

People need to learn to obey authority.

Local police in rural areas cannot afford tasers, bean-bag guns, etc. They are lucky to keep the donut dirt out of their sidearm.
