Sounded like a kick in the seat of the pants directed towards Bustamonte. Either that, or Feinstein is ready for a change, too:-)

Doesn't she come across as a school marm? I don't see her highminded, League-of-woman-voters-like lectures having much effect on people who aren't already committed Democrats.
To: MamaB
Sorry that was not directed at you but her statement about the guns!

Thanks, Dianne. Your "No" will mean nothing and your lack of governor vote is one less for Busty.

Was DiFi pointing one of those automatic weapons she wants to ban at the audience?

If other Democrats who intend to vote NO follow her example, would that not be an advantage for the Republicans?

"...to support the automatic weapons ban..."
Idiot ! automatic weapons have been severly limited in the entire country since 1934.
I don't think there is ANY recorded instance of a crime with a legal automatic weapon since then.
( dosen't make much sense to ban the illegal ones )

Once again I am shocked that Diane will vote no in an effort to help Gov. Davis (D)....that's right (D). She would vote for the Devil if he belonged to the Democratic party. Can't imagine why this article is important enough to post on this web site. Oh well?????

challened Arnold Schwarzenegger to support the automatic weapons banWhat is up with her? Dianne, Arnold's physique should make it abundantly clear to you that if a guy his size wants anything from you, he can just take it. The guns are for you, Dianne.
To: hotpotato
challened Arnold Schwarzenegger to support the automatic weapons ban because his "type" of movie promotes the violence and use of such weapons. Does he also promote that we turn into liquid robots and go backward in time?

The woman is a psychotic; California has the most comprehensive (unconstitutional) AW ban in the nation. The RATs in the Cal legislature, not content with ONE ban enacted a second ban, the infamous SB23. It is that very piece of crap legislation which is the subject of the Silveira case, now awaiting cert. by the US SC. Besides, what the hell is she talking about? Arnie can not run for US President, has no input into the Republican-controlled Congress, and as far as I know, does not talk much to George W. who has gone on record as supporting the federal ban. These people are just plain nuts. They are trying to deflect the main purpose of the recall: as a referendum on taxes. Nuts to her. And to hell with the sycophantic press.

I wonder if DiFi still has her concealed carry permit. Most of the peasantry in California can't get one, but the elite rulers usually have no problem getting one.

That's right. And she's got to know that.
To: RS
The most recent ban will expire next year so they are jumping in there early to renew it. I guess they are hoping to use it as a means to defeat Arnold. Davis was standing there looking like that cat that swallowed the canary. The guy just turns my stomach.

You didn't read the entire article. On the second question of the recall, she's NOT voting for a governor (leaving it blank). That could have major implications. And it's new news.

California has the most comprehensive (unconstitutional) AW ban in the nation. Handgun laws here are pretty comprehensive. Officially, there is no registration for ownership, but realistically, it's called a "handgun safety certificate."
You can read about it here.
