http://www.capitol.state.tx.us/sjrnl/78r/html/sj01-14-f.htm On 1/14/03, a drawing was held in the Texas Senate to determine who would serve two or four year terms, as dictated after redistricting. Listing only those 11 who fled to New Mexico:
Drawing four year terms: Senators Ellis, Barrientos, Madla, Shapleigh, and Whitmire.
Drawing two year terms: Senators Gallegos, Hinojosa, Lucio, Van de Putte, West, and Zaffirini.
Unfortunately, most of these people are in "safe" districts. Most of their constituents think their senators' actions are justified. Boy, it may be a pipe dream, but are there any democrats with integrity who would challenge any of these clowns in the primaries?
