I heard that the power companies deliberately shut down their generators so they wouldn't overload once the first event (unknown supposedly) happened. If this is true, they could have overreacted and now it's going to take a good long time to get things up and running.

If they stayed online and fried the generators it would take MONTHS/YEARS to replace them.

You'd let the grid destroy your facility? I'm glad you're not running any power plant I depend on...
