I've had a theory that's one of the problems in the cities. People don't get to look up at the "big picture", and ponder eternity. They get tied up in their earthly squabbles.
I'm lucky and live where you can see the stars most every night -- and I've been without power for as long as three days. In a ways it's good for us ----- to realize we can survive without being completely dependent on that kind of thing. It's always good to keep some candles and flashlights around.
