Honestly, I've never considered that question

Great website links, thanks!

What I mean is that Mammoth or elephant fossils (or any modern mammals for that matter) are never found in the same strata as dinosaur bones. If one were to speculate that the geological column was laid down as a flood event, then the fossils would be all mixed up. I've heard 'dinosaurs were slow moving so couldn't get to high ground quickly enough' argument, which doesn't really work if you consider that not all dinosaurs were large and slow.

Again, I haven't studied that one, but the evidence that dinosaurs have existed more recently than the column suggests is there. Just theorizing here, but it could simply be that the Mammoths and the dinosaurs preferred different climates or regions. In creation science, the climate of the earth pre-flood and post-flood are two different things. Before the flood, the climate was probably pretty comforable all over the planet. After the flood, there were colder and warmer regions and species either adapted to their new climate or died off. Mammoths and elephants being so similar, perhaps some settled in northern regions and with the ice age did not survive, and some settled in southern regions and adapted to the climate (as in Africa).

It was this phenomenon, repeated many many times, that led to the discovery of the geologic column. For example, trilobites are never found in the same strata as plesiosaurs, mammals are never found in the same strata as Eryops (coal-age amphibian)

And so on and so on.

It is this perfectly regular ordering, which is the same worldwide, that needs a scientific explanation. Evolution provides such an explanation. I've never seen anything other thatn adhoc proposals from the anti-evo camp.
