If you will, please remember this tiny baby in your prayers. Hes the grandson of a very dear friend of mine. Logan was born on July 25. His due date was in October, making his mommy 26 weeks along, being born 3 months and 3 days early.
Logan was 1 lb 9.4 oz when he was born and is now weighing, as of this morning, 1 lb. 8.3 oz. The little guy is now 12-1/2 long.
Hes a real trooper and is fighting with all his little body can fight with. His Grandma said that hes starting to recognize his mommy when she comes in the room and hears her voice. She said he tries so hard to open his eyes, and starts kicking his feet.
I asked my friend if there were any specific prayers, other than the obvious and this is her reply A prayer of thanks for the miracle called "Logan.
On a personal note, Ive read the emails daily from my friend. Ive known her for years, Ive heard her talking about her family for years but Ive got to tell you that Im SO impressed with how her children have all banded together in support. What an incredibly wonderful and loving family.
Father God, we lift up Logans little body to you. We pray that you can strengthen him hourly, daily, weekly, until hes grown enough to go home with his precious family. We ask for guidance for the doctors and nurses who are caring for him. We ask for strength for his parents and extended family. Thank you so much for the gift of life. In Jesus Name, Amen
Fellow Freepers .I bring you Logan!!!
Heavenly Father, as we whisper the sweet name of Logan before the Throne of Grace, we whisper the sweet name of Jacquelyn and ask that Your angels of mercy surround her this night, giving rest and relief, for great is her need. Into Your hands we commit this child, in the name of Jesus, Amen ...

Night - Night Little Lambs...See you in the Morning!
Good morning to all....
Well, the "Termite" weighs..... 5 lb. .01 oz!!!!!! Yep...... the little kid broke the 5 lb. mark last evening :) I keep saying that his progress is amazing, and that it is! I know you saw the cripted message last evening that he had indeed topped the 5 lb mark ;)
He had another eye exam late yesterday afternoon, and the ROP in his eyes had NOT increased, still at a 1, which is the lowest. Thank you God. He will be checked again in a couple of weeks. But so far, so good.
Logan is back to taking a bottle well, and looks even better than he did before surgery. I think it's because he doesn't hurt so much from the hernias. He can wolf down 36 cc's in about 10 minutes, and considering that Beth has to "make" him rest between sucks... he doesn't have the sucking and breathing thing down pat yet.. that's power sucking for sure! He doesn't even dribble much at all :)
He's now in the "big kids room" in the NICU..... and when he leaves that room, he will leave to go home. No word for sure when that will be. We do know that he will be going home on oxygen, and with monitors... but truly.... the future holds for Logan to go home :)
This journey has been incredible to say the least. To see such a tiny infant with so many things that could have gone wrong, rally above the odds and develop outside of the womb to this precious child leaves me without words to describe it. The fight in Logan is something that many adults don't have. He never gives up.... and always when he again jumps a hurdle, his funny faces and smiles return. He loves the morning time... he seems to appreciate greeting a new day :) He rarely cries.... and when he does, it's short term. That may change when he is home... he won't have all of his assistant mommy's (the nurses in NICU) on hand to hold him every second!! LOL Of course, there is no doubt that Beth will!! She has waited far too many years not to sit and relish the miracle of Logan. And when she once again returns to work after a few weeks, then I'll be his caregiver. Am I lucky or what??!?
Logan does still have problems. He has chronic lung disease, the valve in his heart that doesn't stay closed, and the fact that he will require oxygen for however long. So when he does get home, he will be a "special care" baby. Unfortunately, he won't be able to be visited by many who would like to because he's going to have to be protected at home, just as he is at the hospital until he's at last strong enough. Can you imagine what a cold or the flu would do to him????
Yesterday when I was holding him before Beth got to the hospital, I looked at this tiny little boy who was sleeping in my arms..... this child that has been prayed for world wide, this child who our family thought would never be... this miracle called Logan. His face is beautiful, his body perfectly formed and his skin... that of an angel. And in that moment..... I realized that indeed, this child of God has been given to us as proof once again of God's power and the miracles He does perform. Logan has served to help remind me of where my priorities should be. Not on material things, but of love and faith and caring. And he has given me the knowledge that if someone so small, so frail, can overcome such great odds, then I too must try harder when I'm given trials in my life. Seems this tiny little tail is wagging a great big dog! :)
His visit with Uncle TC was perfect for both of them. I don't know if TexasCowboy could have smiled any bigger than he did when he was with the baby! Always, TC will kiss his own finger and place that gentle kiss on Logan's forehead. It's a kiss to Logan from all of his FRamily. At the time TC was there, it was real busy for Logan. He had just had the eye exam, was in the middle of a respiratory treatment, and then it was time for Beth to give him his bottle.... so he wasn't able to hold him. After the visit TC left to go further west... but he announced it was only a couple of hundred miles out of the way.... so on his way back to his home, he'll "drop" by again to see Logan! He says it's because he's going to the rig site within the next few days and he's going to take every opportunity he can to be with the baby. Truly, this little baby has stolen his big Texas heart! But Logan seems to do that to everyone who comes in contact with him :) Did TC enjoy his birthday with Termite? You bet he did! And ask TC about what he brought the baby.... some of the most adorable clothes you have ever seen... even a pair of cargo pants and a little plaid shirt to go with them. He said that was for when Logan attends one of the "shoots" TC plans! Yeeeeeeee gad! Now we're going to have to put out a Logan alert .... TC wants the boy to attend his shoot outs! LOL What fun it is to laugh and think of this little one strong enough to someday be doing those very fun things!!!
Again, and certainly I would be amiss not to say it.... thank you all for being there, for your hours of prayers and the tears you have cried with us. And welcome to a world of smiles today as we greet a new day with Logan... on the road to recovery once again.... and closer to the journey that will at last take him home to be with his mommy and daddy. We say a prayer of thanks for all of you.... for your health, your safety and all of your special intentions. And especially for all of Logan's little FReepermates... our prayers continue for you.
May God bless you all and we love you ..........
Logan's Nana
You make sure you give Logan a big finger-kiss from me!
This is wonderful news. So happy to hear about our little five-pounder!
God is good.
Beautiful...just beautiful.
Prayers for Big 5-POUND 1 OUNCE fighter Logan who is so loved and prayed over and who is proving daily that all things are possible!
Thank you for the ping, Tonkin, and the sweet words to Logan.
