I don't care about tactical finesse. At this moment all I want is a Republican Landslide and a mandate to dump liberalism! This is a major nuke strike against marxism!

The GOP seems to have adapted a philosophy of winning more seats by ... co-opting Dem positions, largely because they seem to believe that they can take the vote of their base for granted. So what do we fiscal conservatives gain by such a co-option approach? Larger government, which is EXACTLY the opposite of the goal you just stated.
So if you don't watch your tactics, your strategy will net you a Pyrrhic victory. The GOP will be lords and masters of ever-larger government.

Agreed, Jim. An army first has to take the beach before it can liberate the continent. Right now, we're fighting through the hedgerows. 2004 could be a break-out election, and all subsequent elections could then represent significant retreats of liberalism.
