We also don't know whether her Bronze Star had the "V" device or not. The "V" device indicates combat heroism. Without it, the Bronze Star may be awarded for Meritorious Service in a theater of combat operations. A lot of the REMFs in Vietnam received "slick" Bronze Stars.

Guys at the Pentagon received "slick" Bronze Stars for Desert Storm just for planning it.

You are right. She did not get the "V". I thought this was going happen. Some thought it should have been a Silver Star.

"A lot of the REMFs in Vietnam received 'slick' Bronze Stars."

I worked on Linebacker II (the massive bombing campaign of the North in December, 1972) when I was in the USAF. I didn't get diddly-squat as far as any medals, but that didn't bother me, because the mission was a success, and it brought the North back to the peace talks with renewed sense of urgency and seriousness. And, you will recall that 4 weeks later the peace agreement was signed.

You're waaaay wrong on that. I've only read this far, so I'm certain you've been corrected by others on your stretch.
