Guys at the Pentagon received "slick" Bronze Stars for Desert Storm just for planning it. You're waaaay wrong on that. I've only read this far, so I'm certain you've been corrected by others on your stretch.
To: discostu
Then maybe they shouldn't have all these awards. So, every soldier must be a decorated soldier then.

You're the one that chose to name yourself after a cartoon terrorist AFTER 9-11.

No. You said multiple and you provided one. And that one went by just his opinion. The others have provided both the codified conditions and history of the award.
You lose.

Awards are good for morale, they provide positive recognition of achievement, remember the military doesn't have a lot of the tools of corporations for recognition like bonuses and raises even promotions work very differently.
My understanding is that not all awards are decorations.

Thank you for your knowledgable report..factual and accurate.Should we take them away from rest to the unit 's recipients? If they, as her SGT reports she did, only ran their vehicle into something, fired no shots, failed in their mission, and saved no one else, then they damn sure should. Why in your opinion do we give medals, for showing up?
To: Destro
Or so your profile page proudly displays.

You're way off, sir. Many of the planners got Bronze Stars. Many of those who were in the theater got only campaign ribbons.

Correct, poor English on my part. No problem - For the record, my Dad was Army, credited with jumping out of the back of a troop truck and mowing down several Germans in WW-II with his BAR. Got a letter of accomadation which he never bothered to share with us offspring until Mom got hold of it. What does that mean WRT Jessica Lynch? Not a thing - they're both heros, but by different means. Dad was never a POW. He never had to face being beaten about the back with a rifle butt. He faced his enemy in an entirely different situation.
I am proud of both, along with countless other people that have defended freedom over the years.

By the time they invented Cobra I'd move well beyond G.I. Joe. When I played with them G.I. Joe was almost a foot tall and talked.
Given your desperate and pathetic need to destroy Lynch any game you played had to be stupid, and probably did permanent brain damage. The sadness is all from Destro.

Every Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine that supported this operation in even the smallest way deserves a medal.
Mainly for being willing to defend this country at the risk of life and limb while most of the other residents of this land do nothing but Bitch about the way they the Military preforms their mission.
For any of you who served your country Honorably Thank You. No one could ever say that enough.
Ponder for a minute just how hot and miserable it is over there and with todays communications the fighting soldier can see that while his buddies are risking death for 99% of the rest of the world life goes on in airconditioned comfort as normal.

I'm calling you on it. Name someone who worked or sat in the Pentagon who earned a Bronze Star for that duty.
I realize the awards system is sometimes out of control, but I've never met someone, not in theater, that earned a Bronze Star that way.
