Yeah, I think they said it was an electrical fire. Or else some Frenchman forgot to stub his Gitanes out.

The Saddam boys dead/ the Eiffel on fire. Tell me honestly, does it get any better than this?????

"Only when Hitlery goes on The View and reveals to the world that she is the Anti-Christ and did, in fact (order the) murder (of) Vince Foster, steal the Rose Law Firm billing records, defraud investors during the Whitewater scandal, lie hundreds of times to Federal investigators during various depositions, and married Xlinton only to further her Socialist Agenda".

A Well-Deserved BUMP!

Happy Birthday! If I still had that old Eifel Tower lighter my gramps gave years ago, I'd send it to you as a present to mark the day.

LOL.. perhaps. I just heard the same on CBS radio. The restaurant up in the Eiffel Tower I was thinking about is on another level of the Tower. The area on fire is closed to tourists.

Happy Birthday, CC. Did you buy yourself a new G5 for the occasion?

I considered buying myself one for my birthday (yesterday), but I really don't need all that power, speed, and subtle beauty.

Am I the only who saddened by the majority of this thread?

Yeah. Pretty much.

Honest, the web cams were working a while ago - I saw two or three fire trucks at the base of the tower, but no sign of smoke.

Happy Belated B'day to you, Semper911! No, no new G5 here..... I did get the iSight as a present, tho, and that is way cool. Now, I just need some more friends to get one.....

Cheers, CC :)

Read the thread again and try to understand. I was chastising people who were rejoicing before knowing any facts, before knowing whether innocent people (including American tourists) were injured or killed. France is burning? Well hell, where's the Dom Perignon? I am happy nobody was injured (seemingly unlike others), that has nothing to do with anything I've said.

But I also have difficulty relating to those who would continue to rejoice had it been a terrorist attack in which innocent people were killed. Clearly there were some of those in this thread. One person basically flat out told me that French civilians deserved to die.
