He's so going to jail.
Oh wait, I forgot that he was a sports star.
He's going to walk, even though he deserves to get his ass locked up.

Perhaps Kobe did not understand the meaning of No.
He should have thought about living for his family before this incident.
If the allegations of rape are true my heart goes out to the woman. Her life and character will be picked apart unmercifully. I also feel sorry for Kobe's wife. I wonder how she feels about standing beside a man who betrayed her trust and obviously cared so little about her feelings.

I mean my family. I will fight for them. So, Kobe, were you "fighting for them" while you were banging the hotel staff? Pathetic.

Does anyone know how long he has been married?

If the allegations are not true, I feel somewhat sorry for Kobe. His life and his character will be picked apart unmercifully as well, as if they haven't been already. The fact that he's been charged is already enough for most people to convict him in their minds.

"I made the mistake of adultery" Mistake? No, my forgetting to take out the garbage this morning was a mistake. Adultery is a sin. You want to mess around with other women, don't get married. ....and certainly don't have kids.

Absolutely, that's why God set up those rules. You pay the price when you sin. Besides, he's probably just one more criminal that happens to be able to play a sport at a professional level. 70% of people that play in the NFL and NBA would probably be in jail if they couldn't play a professional sport.

Yes regardless of what transpired that night Kobe's reputation is definitely tarnished and his private life will now be laid open to the public. Whether it was consensual of not he chose to be unfaithful. I doubt the 19 year old hotel employee forced him to have sex with her.

This has all the makings of a set-up, in my opinion. We've gone from a time when an allegation of rape usually merited comments like 'she had it coming' to a time now, where any allegation of rape is a de facto career ender and "the woman is always right". Neither is acceptable, but there it is.

I have to answer to my wife and my God for my actions that night and I pray that both will forgive me.How about asking for forgivness from the Freepers who said there was no way you'd do something like that, that you were too clean cut, didn't party, didn't mess around, etc. :-)

Then again, so did Kobe.

He's going to walk, even though he deserves to get his ass locked up.It's not like he ran over 9 people and killed them, and hurt another 50, oh wait, that guy is going to walk . Okay, well, it's not like he murdered his ex-wife and her friend. Oh wait, that guy walked. Hrm..He's not getting tried in CA, so there is a slight chance he'll do time.

It could be a 'set-up' as you say but Kobe still could have said no thanks and there would now be no consequencs to pay. He made a choice. He made a bad choice. I wonder how many times he has made this choice ( to be unfaithful to his wife ) in the past.

I certainly hope that her allegations are false and that she was not assaulted (shame on her). But, again, she wouldn't have had the ability to make ANY accusations at all if he didn't choose to commit adultery.

Yeah right, Kobe raped this girl.
He has blonde groupies by the 1000's, but he has to rape some ex-American Idol contestant from Colorado?
She went to his room. She pursued him.
Kobe could get cheerleaders, playmates, pornstars, dancers, showgirls, why the hell would he RAPE some girl who works in a hotel for crying out loud?
Does Kobe have a pattern of this kind of behavior? NO! I could understand the animosity if it was Allen Iverson or Kirby Puckett or Anthony Mason or any of these BAD BOYS who exhibit erratic behavior and/or are all tatted up. Heck, I'd even believe her if it was Mike Tyson or Vernon Jordan or Bill Clinton.
I support Kobe on this one. The incident took place in HIS room for crying out loud. It's not like he was out there with tranquilizer darts, blowguns and chloroform rags and ruphenol.
From what we know of Kobe's past, he's clean. What about her, an ex-American Idol contestant? Does she have a jock fetish? Or a celebrity fetish? Gee, ho hum, I wonder...
