We have read those "facts" and have found them wanting.
If you stick around here long enough, you may find all new....all different facts.
And you're one to talk about honest dialogue?
Thanks so much for your insight.
Sorry, pal, this "do your own homework" nonsense is a childish evasion. If you make a claim, then you're the one who must back it up.
You make a point here. So we agree, sure he would have messed with us. However, I think we disagree to his level of a threat. However, you could be very right, that I will not deny.
However, from where I'm sitting I'll never know. I'll never have access to the information that the Government has. Nor do I think that I could make the decision to go to war.
So what am I left with? In my view, two things...faith and hope. Faith that my leaders will respect the foundations of America (be they republican, democrat, or whatever), while fighting the realities that terror is very real. It can hit us at home. Also, I realize that we are the only nation that will stick it out for the long haul when it comes to fighting terror. Our friends will come and go (with the exception of Britain) as the political situation at home shifts to and fro.
Of course, these are just my opinions...I'm no expert. I hope that the justification for war is there. Not because politics demands it but because those who have gone and fought in my stead (I cannot join the service) are owed this victory.
It is very cool to talk to someone with a different opinion who isn't afraid to stick it out. You also didn't make me read an extra long missive :)
Why is it, exactly, that you feel so secure in this knowledge?
Calling President Bush a "fascist traitor" doesn't qualify as calm dialogue, ideologue. Here's some calm dialogue for you: Get lost.
I don't want the gov't to 'take care of me.'
Hussein was pretty incapable of hurting us. Would he if he'd had a chance? Sure! But could he? As the truth now coming out reveals, hardly.
In our increasingly smaller 'global community', danger can be something as small as, well, West Nile Virus or Sars. Even if only psychologically: the Islamic facists, or Hussein, or the North Koreans have no other way to defeat us. Post 9-11 we can hardly take threats lightly anymore.
First people were complaining Bush didn't do anything to stop 9-11, and now when he, for reasons we may not know yet, has decided to take the USA into Iraq, IMHO, its all part of the larger War on Terror.
Now his spending, that I don't like.
