The Observer: IRA bomb expert training Palestinians in West Bank

Israeli intelligence operatives have launched an extensive manhunt for an IRA bomb-making expert suspected of training Palestinian terrorists in the West Bank, the British Observer weekly reported today.

The identity of the 40-year-old man, who entered Israel three weeks ago on a British passport, is known both to The Observer and the Shin Bet, the publication reported. The man is considered "among the world's leading experts in both bomb- and mortar-making technology," according to the report.

Intelligence officials believe that the man successfully crossed into the West Bank and is currently working to help Palestinian terrorist groups, including Hamas and Islamic Jihad, improve their bomb-making skills. "Israeli security forces are bracing themselves for a series of massive bomb attacks," the publication said.

That reassesment is long overdue.

The IRA has been working with the FARC in Columbia since the 1990s. Three people associated with were arrested on August 11, 2001 with false passports and traces of explosives in Bogata and later charged with training locals with the use of explosives and mortars. it seems I wasn't too far off in my assesment. The only thing that surprises me is that this guy would enter Israel on an English passport as opposed to being smuggled across the border from a neighboring country. But, as I said, their top people in both organizations have been killed off, so who knows.

there is already an IRA - PLO connection, it's no secret and doesn't take any digging to uncover.

The bombs that Hamas and PLO have been using for several years are all a direct result of trade-off's between the IRA and Muslim organizations: The IRA sends over their top guys to train the Arabs in bomb and mortor construction, and the PLO and Hamas let the IRA train in the desert and help them aquire amrs and ammunition from countries like Lybia.

Now that this link is well known, the IRA have made the same deal with Columbian terrorists, training them in bomb and mortor construction in exchange for use of their large, remote jungle camps. Look into last years story of 3 Irish nationals linked to the "Real IRA" splinter group arrested in Columbia last year.

Now that Israel has been targeting senior Hamas and PLO leaders, most of their senior bomb techs have been killed.
