Free Republic: Not for the weak

Over the past couple of days, I have been witness to events and behavior that has moved me to stand up and address it.
I have seen people here taking a disagreement with Jim Robinson, and using it as an excuse to be belligerent and downright disrespectful towards him. Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members.
Well, now, I am fed up.
If you have a problem with what Jim says, fine. Nobody is expected to agree with everyone 100% of the time. But don't be a horse's tuchis about it, and don't go running someplace else just so you can call him a socialist or a Nazi because he is not in the mood for your foolishness and puts a permanent brake on it.
If you don't care about the way things are being run, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Just spare us the long and/or elaborate goodbyes, especially if you are doing it to annoy or irritate everyone else. In other words, don't go away mad, just go away.
But don't go to another site and call everyone here Bush-bots, socialists, or worse. It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode. Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.

I had to get that off my chest. Thanks for letting me vent, even if this may have a short shelf life.

Chrysler Corporation was to add a new car to it's line to honor Bill Clinton. The Dodge Drafter was to begin production in Canada this year, but the car had to be pulled out of production when initial tests showed that the little white lines on the road kept disappearing all the time. |

JR has a way of handling the most disruptive of disruptors, but I enjoyed your vent, nonetheless!

Nice rant...but I still despise Bush-bots and socialist here on FR.
Dubya can be a "compassionate conservative" with someone else's money.
I've voted for the guy on four different occassions, I had no idea he'd turn into a complete lib on us.

amen. we are 'guest' in mr. robinson's 'house.' It would be rude for any of u to mock him at his own dinner table.

THANK YOU, Houmatt - you get a standing ovation.

I don't understand why JimRob feels the criticism of Bush for spending like a socialist is somehow illegitimate. Notice I said "socialist" and not "Democrat," because Clinton did a better job than Bush is doing now at reining in deficits.

I normally would not chime on on this subject but I agree with you totally.
As as old timer this forum has gotten way too populated however to me its still the finest place on the web for me.
JIM THANKS AGAIN :)

To: Houmatt
I second that. But just think. Eventually they will create trouble for the next website. Actually, they can be nothing more than malcontents in their own private lives. Ignore them. They are not worth our time of day.

I had to reformat. GRRRR!
To: Houmatt
It needed to be said Houmatt, and you said it well. I'd be willing to bet that most of the people who are complaining never bother to hit the Freepaton thread to donate either.
Things get heated around here from time to time, and if you don't have what it takes to stand your ground and make your arguement, you're better off elsewhere.
It's Jim's house, we're guests.

Don't forget how Clinton "balanced" the budget and cut federal jobs.
He did it by gutting the military my friend. 95% of the "federal jobs" that were cut... were military.
