Free Republic: Not for the weak

Over the past couple of days, I have been witness to events and behavior that has moved me to stand up and address it.
I have seen people here taking a disagreement with Jim Robinson, and using it as an excuse to be belligerent and downright disrespectful towards him. Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members.
Well, now, I am fed up.
If you have a problem with what Jim says, fine. Nobody is expected to agree with everyone 100% of the time. But don't be a horse's tuchis about it, and don't go running someplace else just so you can call him a socialist or a Nazi because he is not in the mood for your foolishness and puts a permanent brake on it.
If you don't care about the way things are being run, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Just spare us the long and/or elaborate goodbyes, especially if you are doing it to annoy or irritate everyone else. In other words, don't go away mad, just go away.
But don't go to another site and call everyone here Bush-bots, socialists, or worse. It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode. Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.

I basically agree with what you in terms of your evaluations of these people, but isn't it kind of pointless to order peope not to say certain things on ANOTHER website?
That's like a Canadian court giving an order to an American citizen - there's just no jurisdiction.

Hey! You aren't on the right side of the fence! You're ON the fence. At least you aren't on the left side of the fence. Misery loves company.
I love these threads.

It's the crossposting toots...
Go over there and slam here...
Then come over here and act like a jerk.
Get slapped down or banned.
Then go back over there and cry and whine as if someone here intentionally tinkled in their cornflakes.
It is intentional, juvenile and gets old rather quickly.

I was just insulted by two newbies (well, only ONE of them really insulted me personally - the other just made a general insulting remark about the women who support President Bush here...sign up date July 12,2003) I have never seen before and never interacted with on another thread.
It's like tossing a smoke bomb into a building.

Now don't know if HouMatt voted for him in the Congressional race... Thank you for the clarification, he did run in 78 for a Congressional seat and lost.
It wasn't Houmatt though, it was I got the rope, who stated the C-Span seminar caller line that basically states, "I have been a Republican all my life, but now I am so spitting mad, blah, blah, blah."

Actually, I'm not on the fence - but I DO try to be reasonable and fair to everyone. I don't often get credit for it, but I try.
And I think, at this time, I should blow a big wet kiss to my secret admirer, who shall be referred to for this purpose as "Padre Twist". The guy just can't get enough of me. xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxox (I love you too, Padre, baby!)
