Free Republic: Not for the weak
Houmatt | Matthew Mason

Posted on 07/12/2003 4:38:13 PM PDT by Houmatt

Over the past couple of days, I have been witness to events and behavior that has moved me to stand up and address it.

I have seen people here taking a disagreement with Jim Robinson, and using it as an excuse to be belligerent and downright disrespectful towards him. Then when he gets fed up and bans that member, they immediately go to another similar website and proceed to attack not just him, but also every facet of this site, including mods and members.

Well, now, I am fed up.

If you have a problem with what Jim says, fine. Nobody is expected to agree with everyone 100% of the time. But don't be a horse's tuchis about it, and don't go running someplace else just so you can call him a socialist or a Nazi because he is not in the mood for your foolishness and puts a permanent brake on it.

If you don't care about the way things are being run, that's fine too. Nobody is forcing you to be here. Just spare us the long and/or elaborate goodbyes, especially if you are doing it to annoy or irritate everyone else. In other words, don't go away mad, just go away.

But don't go to another site and call everyone here Bush-bots, socialists, or worse. It's completely uncalled for and unmitigated, and best kept in hush mode. Not everybody wants to hear it, even at that other site.

I cruise around FR a LOT but don't remember much about TBLSHOW. What was his deal and why was he banned?

That being said...do y'all think that a recount could be overturned by a judicial activist court in Kalifornia.

That my friend is a very real possiblity

I normally would not chime on on this subject but I agree with you totally.

As as old timer this forum has gotten way too populated however to me its still the finest place on the web for me.

Holding to the majority isn't enough, Jim. Republicans have held on to the House majority for nearly 10 years now, and what has that gotten us? Granted, they were a foil to Clintoon for the rest of his presidency, but what else? What is needed are two things: 1) keep adding to the majority (with conservatives) every election, and 2) get Republicans to grow some gonads (apologies to the ladies) and stop grabbing the ankles when someone criticizes them.

FR is a great place for discussion and debate of conservative issues, but if that doesn't translate into ACTION, it's worthless.

Consider it a compliment to be insulted by newbies. I got tossed from the Goldberg site for stating on this site that she and Humphrey bumped uglies (hey, it was documented I just reiterated it). I learned my lesson, FR is the only site for me. I never thought I would be called an old timer but then again I am persistant as the devil.

Huh? Who's asking you to give up your morals or beliefs? Furthermore, if you read the Democrat Pary platform, I'd say it's immoral not to work with every fiber of your mind, body and soul to keep them out of office. You can't possibly tell me that a government that sanctions and funds the wholesale slaughter of the innocent unborn is a moral government. And that the political party that is wholly responsible for this abomination is allowed to stand by people who turn their back and look the other way? How can you possibly reconcile this?

Hey, I'm with you 100%. Keep moving the new conservative blood up through the ranks. A turnover in the party can be achieved over time. And much less time than attempting to build a new party.

Funny I did not mention any names, and yet here you come to validate everything I said.

I thank you for your (unintentional) support.

The majority does allow us to pick the judges though, instead of the Democrats. We already know what their litmus test is. No pro-life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-America, pro-God applicant need apply.

TLBSHOW was banned because he was belligerent and disrepectful toward the person who runs this site. Such is what happens when you decide to bite the hand that feeds you.

You are so right friend. I've found that by being on this site I have fresh new ammunition for "the world". In the last two years I've registered everyone in my office to vote and I've slammed demonrat libs to the ground with the wealth of information that JimRob has made available to us.

I have really honed my skills here on FR. I catch libs in their lies all day long. I'm proud to say that I've converted at least 80 people to our conservative cause.

Huh? Who's asking you to give up your morals or beliefs?

You did, and summer had the audacity to rub my nose in it the other day. But that is water under the bridge and not the point of my post.

Furthermore, if you read the Democrat Pary platform, I'd say it's immoral not to work with every fiber of your mind, body and soul to keep them out of office.

That has nothing to do with whether I have difference with Bush so you are now proving my point.

You can't possibly tell me that a government that sanctions and funds the wholesale slaughter of the innocent unborn is a moral government.

Did I suggest somewhere that I thought it was. Why is this even thrown into the conversation, to attack?

And that the political party that is wholly responsible for this abomination is allowed to stand by people who turn their back and look the other way?

I recall you doing that in another area for the good of the party but as I said before, water under the bridge.

How can you possibly reconcile this?

I don't. I don't prefer the other party. But Bush does things that I can't reconcile either and when it is mentioned, we are treated as the enemy, as you did in your reply to me.

BTW, if you check, you will find that I have not been on the Bush bashing threads. Nor have done any FR bashing.
