The biggest waste of our tax dollars is the war on drugs.

Deaths in the United States in a typical year are as follows:

Tobacco kills about 390,000 (lung cancer 160,000; lung deseases
-emphesyma, bronchitis, pneumonia, flu - 85,000, related heart
disease 30,000).

Smoking accounts for about 30% of all cancer deaths
and about 85% of all cases of lung cancer.

Alcohol kills about 80,000

Workplace accidents kill 60,000

Automobiles kill 40,000

Cocaine kills about 2,200

Heroin kills about 2,000

Aspirin kills about 2,000

Marijuana kills 0
There has never been a recorded death due to marijuana at any time in
US history.

All illegal drugs combined kill about 4,500 people per year, or about one percent of the number killed by alcohol and tobacco.

Tobacco kills more people each year than all of the people killed by
all of the illegal drugs in the last one hundred years.

That is pure BS, I seem to recall that one of the tain wrecks that killed several people was operated by a user. he smoked just before going to work.

http://us.cnn.com/2003/LAW/06/27/windshield.death/

"Mallard appeared drained as she returned to the courtroom Friday for testimony during the sentencing phase. A toxicology expert was first on the stand Friday to explain the effects of the alcohol, marijuana and other drugs Mallard had taken the night of the crime "

I guess only alcohol counted...right?

Apples and oranges: you're comparing ALL tobacco-related deaths to ONLY marijuana OVERDOSE deaths. This sloppy (at best) use of statistics gets nailed every time it's posted and does the anti-WOD cause no good whatsoever. Please cease and desist.

Do you really believe that marijuana is banned because it kills people?

Then why are you trotting out these irrelevent statistics?

Oh you're kidding right??? Please don't tell me that Marijuana being a control substance plus carcinogen just like tobbacco is not harmful. Please don't tell me you seriously believe this.

I'll agree that the war on drugs is a huge waste of taxpayer money but if you expect people to see your point of view you should really drop the illogical propaganda speech.
