Liberal Democrat party operatives have been doing so for quite some time. Just go back and read what certain Senators opposed to our presence in Iraq have been saying for the past ten months...but I suspect this recent concerted and organized effort can be traced back to McAuliffe and Bill Clinton. They are trying to undermine and destroy Dubya's poll numbers.
In the end it all boils down to POWER - who wants it and intends on getting it.
