TEXAS REDISTRICTING--Vote TONIGHT!
Streaming Video ^
Posted on 07/07/2003 9:14:02 PM PDT by Capitalism2003
Can this be one of those cool *LIVE THREAD* posts? ;)
Check the live video today...Texas 'runaway' dems are complaining..crying..whining about this. The Texas GOP got the guts to force a vote TONIGHT...with police guarding the building, preventing the coward demos from fleeing again. The redistricting hearing is finally continuing, and it looks like we may pick up 3-4 new seats in the house if it passes. They could only obstruct for so long...Now it's time to push it through. Follow the link below to watch live.

Senate...... 19 to 12..... but need 21 votes to bring it to the floor for action..... thus two dems if all the pubs hold in line
Not true. The 2/3rds needed is not a rule just tradition, and thus can be suspended. So Dewhurst can really tell the Dems to shut the hell we are bringing redistricting to the floor, as long as he has 16 votes.

I don't know about anyone else, but I refuse to count the chickens till my eggs hatch! I wouldn't put anything past the Rats - especially after this vote tonight.

When I read armed guards were stationed at the doors, I hoped the
rats would make a break for it.
What was the rat point in leaving the state the last time there was a vote if they were not going to do that again? Did they get suckered into being in the House and then could not get out? Or did they give up?

Maybe they were "trapped like RATS!" Oh, wait...They ARE RATS!!!!!!! I guess they were just "trapped RATS."

Wonder if Rats are having second thoughts about claiming Bush ran subliminal ads in 2000 calling them Rats. Didn't the Rat party once have another name and mascot? Dem something or other...

Excellent !!! I had to move my TV from FOX News Channel to local channel 5 at 6 p.m. last night to see what the heck was going on regarding redistricting. They said that they were expecting a vote tonight, and that it was expected to pass.
Now on to the Senate - for the REAL fight ! Don't you know there has been SOME kinda deal-makin' going on there the last week ?? I hope it passes there - crosses fingers, toes . . . eyes ! hehe!

Just guessing but I think the Dems claims of massive support for their running away the last time was total malarkey. They decided to quit while they were behind, let the vote go through, and later drag the whole thing to a liberal court.

An excellent guess. Think I was suckered by the national media reports about the great support Democrats got when they fled the state. It didn't make any sense to me at all when reading it. It was a lie, wasn't it?
