DEAN WANTS TO CLEAN: EYES CHANGES AT DNC, MCAULIFFE

Presidential contender Howard Dean has confided to associates how he desires a fresh course for the Democratic National Committee, including a dramatic change in its leadership, specifically chairman Terry McAuliffe, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

Sources close to the early-Democratic frontrunner reveal how Dean has bitterly complained about McAuliffe and the lackluster job he has done for the party.

"We'll make a change there immediately [after the New Hampshire primary]," a top Dean source said of the DNC leadership. "I think it is important, as does Howard, to make a new beginning, cut ties from the past."

"Oil and water, those two," said one Washington observer of Dean and McAuliffe.

"I was watching Terry going quietly mad, almost to the point of steam coming out of his ears, as Dean greatly exceeded the 2-minute time limit at the candidates' dog & pony show last week at the Mayflower Hotel."

I disagree with Dean on just about everything, but I gotta hand him a gold star for courage on this. When he said he wanted to reclaim the Democratic party, he wasn't kidding.
[/quote]

You mean, the McGovern/Carter/Mondale/Dukakis wing of the party is trying to take over the party again?

I'm in favor of Dean as the Democratic presidential candidate. :sinister grin:

Dean may end up doing more for Conservatives than anybody else....

I heard that Ralph Nader is also considering a run....

Look at what a harvest we have here: Sharpton, Dean, Kucinich, and maybe even Nader.

Lots of GOP voters getting uppset with GWB lately too (AWB, CFR, No Child Left Behind, Patriot Act, budget increases, etc), so a solid third-party candidate just might be able to pull off another 15-19% shocker. Maybe 2004 won't be the walk-through that most think it to be.

Disappointed by those measures? Sure. Angry enough not to vote for him? Not that many people. I think polls among Republicans show that Bush still enjoys about 90% support.

The reality is that none of those measures have large constituencies against them. In contrast, H.W. Bush's tax increase did upset a large number of people.

Bush is a canny politician. He'll never do anything that'll seriously upset a large number of constituents. But he'll move left on the "second-tier" issues to gain moderate voters.

Well, there's the infamous "suicide by cop" where a suicidal person acts like he's going to attack a police officer so that he gets shot.

This might be "suicide by Hillary." Or maybe it's "Voluntary Arkanicide."

JFKJr. and Well-sinkinglikeastone accidents are, accidents? Ah, you're trying to spoil all the fun.
As for Dean, what a macho fella! Trying to rip Mcauliffe and Company new ones right out of the batter's box, and he hasn't even won the MoveOn endorsement yet. This guy has guts, that much I'd have to give him. Should be fun to watch the reaction to this infight.

Dean apparently believes he's on the right (make that left)track. Toppling McAwful is a move he obviously feels he must make to feed lefties' simmering anger from McA's 2002 screwup. Hasta la vista, Terry.

"don't knock the guy"

Well ... I'm not knocking the guy - and I think you missed the point. I agree with Dean - McAwful needs to go. He's a pawn of x42, Hil and the goons.

But ... the point is - McAwful is the hand-picked gopher for x42 and only x42 believes he has the right to replace McAwful. Besides, anybody who ever tries to buck x42 has met with an untimely circumstance; such as suicide, auto accidents, plane accidents, etc. Never forget x42's statement, "I believe it's okay to kill people who hurt you".

"Dean is finished."

Or McAuliffe.

I'll settle for either scenario, thank you very much!

Oh, I understand that point.

However, it is nice to see someone in that party start to show some balls and say the mob must go.

I agree with your statement - but I don't know if Dean is really aware of what kind of hornet's nest he's stiring up - and who he's really going up against ... x42 ...!! McAwful will squash Dean like a bug!
