A lot of things have gone downhill since the '62 abomination about no prayer in schools and the '73 abomination about killing babies. It's been more than 90 years since we had a national Spiritual Awakening in our once-God-fearing country. The good news is - one's coming.

Could we all agree that America will continue to lose its civility if it continues to 1) devalue marriage, 2) devalue human life?
EXAMPLE: One of my employees got to talking w/me one day about his beliefs. He said he wasn't of any particular religion, though he felt he was more Hindu than anything. What he proceeded to tell me alarmed me and woke me up to the reality that not everyone thinks like I do....He said that a person's life is worth very little if they're a bad person, and if his dog was drowning at the same time as a known thief, he'd save the dog.
I thought, in this man's world who gets to choose a person's value and with what scale of justice? At what level of crimes would the life slip below the value of a dog's? I was alarmed that I was working in the same office as a person with such a belief about human life. What if I were the one drowing, and there were a whole city of people like him who would make some judgement about me before deciding whether to save me? What if there were a whole country of people who thought that way? (there are, some parts of India where they have the caste system).
The American Founding Fathers had a reason to use Christianity as a basis (though not an imposed religion). With that basis they put value to each human life. In all truth, realize that there are many religions that recommend and condone murder and revenge - remember 9/11. Since there's no imposed religion in America, it's up to Americans themselves (not government) to decide what types of beliefs will be tolerated in this country. Remember that when your school or corporation pushes universal tolerance down your throat.
