Not Always What They Seem

What you see is not always what you get. Recently, I was at a dinner party at the magnificent home of producer Robert Evans. The home and the guests were more than impressive. Every guest was a "heavy hitter." The crowd was eclectic and I mingled with the likes of astronaut “Buzz” Aldren, Tony Danza, Suzanne Pleshette, Christy Brinkley and Tracy Bingham from Baywatch fame.

But the one I most enjoyed speaking with was the former US Ambassador to Morocco, Marc Ginsberg. Nice Jewish man, yes? I thought so anyway, until a few nights ago when I turned on FOX and listened to him speak about the almost 300,000 “settlers” and what an obstacle to peace they are. Mr. Ginsberg elaborated how “they” have to move out, and I was thinking, “Move out, and then what? Turn over their lovely homes to the rampaging Arabs who would rape and pilfer everything and everyone in their wake?” What makes someone like him be so misinformed and vocal? He and the others of his ilk fill the airwaves speaking of how expelling Arabs is considered racism; however, when it comes to expelling Jews, that´s okay.

Don´t be surprised down the line, when the anti-Semites who want to get rid of their respective country’s Jews will repeat the mantra, "We are only demanding from you Jews what you have demanded for other Jews." So, don´t get to too comfortable in Manhattan, Beverly Hills, the Valley, Malibu, Greenwich, Boston, Miami, Rome, London, etc. The Jews like Marc Ginsberg are throwing away the inalienable right of Jews to live anywhere in the world, if they give up that right in their own land.

Later, I watched while a man named Stanley Cohen, who is the lawyer representing the terror group Hamas, speak in Nazi terms about “the Jews.” He used semantics to separate himself from Hamas and stated that he only “represented the head of Hamas.” Is there a difference?

Frankly, all I can do is shake my head in amazement when I hear people like Marc Ginsberg, and others, speak about the need for Israel to appease. Appeasing is what Israel seems to be doing all along. What’s even more surprising to me is how many of these people are speaking out the loudest against their own people. Are they just plain stupid or just self-haters? Woody Allen, who is now out promoting tourism in France, to better fund Hamas, is not stupid; I just find him greedy and evil. Adam Shapiro and his Arab wife, who ran to comfort Arafat in Ramallah, I´ll put in that category.

I don´t think that most of these moronic Leftist Jews are evil as they are so caught up in the Stockholm Syndrome. They walk around "feeling the pain" of the enemy and all the touchy-feely aspects of their concept of helping their fellow man and forget who the enemy is. Eventually, they themselves become the enemy by their self-hatred. Somehow this gives their irrelevant lives meaning.

I think probably that there is a special place in hell for people like the Stanley Cohens of the world who try to perpetuate the lies. Hey, compared to the world leaders and organizations who have demonized Israel as an “aggressor” and “occupier”, dignitaries like Mr. Ginsberg are small potatoes. But individuals like this are very troublesome. There is a small but very visible and vocal group of them, which my favorite author and dear friend, Jack Engelhard , lovingly refers to as "Jews for Arafat." They do great damage, because their every word is picked up by anti-Semites, who wait to quote them. Another one that comes to mind is Richard Dreyfuss. As a journalist, I once attended a “memorial” for the Arabs who were killed by Baruch Goldstein, sponsored by Dreyfuss at UCLA. I was appalled! I was almost escorted out when I asked for a “moment of silence” for the victims of Arab terrorism, instead of for the “poor downtrodden Arabs.” So-called "Rabbi” Lerner is in the same category. And I wonder what kind of congregation pays a Rabbi who has been so violently anti-Jewish?

Then there are the Ed Asners and Theodore Bikels of the world who I actually believe think that they are “friends of Israel”, but manage to do harm anyway by their leftist stance. Is it possible that they recently lent their names to an ad in the Los Angeles Times for a group that tried to raise money to pay the settlers to move out of their homes, so Arabs could move in? Amazingly, these articulate and educated men never seem to notice how the Arab world dances and sings at Israel’s pain. Their solution is always that Israel is to blame and Israel must keep on making concession after concession.

Frankly, I have a better idea.

Just before World War I, there were a number of terrorist attacks on the United States forces in the Philippines by - you guessed it - Muslim extremists. So, General Pershing captured 50 terrorists and had them tied to posts execution-style. He then had his men bring in two pigs and slaughtered them in front of the now-horrified terrorists. The soldiers then soaked their bullets in the pigs’ blood and proceeded to execute 49 of the terrorists by firing squad. The soldiers then dug a big hole, dumped in the terrorists’ bodies and covered them in pig blood, entrails, etc. They let the 50th man go. For the next forty-two years, there was not a single Muslim extremist attack on US targets anywhere in the world. To them, eating or touching a pig, its meat, its blood, etc., is to be instantly barred from paradise with those 72 virgins, and doomed to hell. It’s where they belong. Along with the self-haters.

I know the Gen Pershing story is likely a myth, but it's a nice story anyway.

This article lacks narrative focus.

I suspect that the attitude of many of the appeasers is one we're familiar with.

American liberals would say: "Who would really want to live in rural Alabama instead of the West Side of Manhattan? Only backward religious fanatics." Jewish liberals might say: "Who would really want to live in the Judaean desert instead of Haifa? Only backward religious fanatics."

That's probably what motivates most of these guys.

Stanley Cohen, however, hates God.

Well ... I don't agree with the author about Mark Ginsburg. I've been watching him on FOX for months now and I've never heard anything but good stuff come out of his mouth. He seems to have exceptional knowledge about the situation in the Middle East. I was hoping he would be appointed as an Ambassador to Iraq.

They did purchase the land they live on from established owners, correct? If so, it's their damn land, so why should they leave!?!

I'd be comfortable describing Ginsburg as coming down on the left of most issues. Not too far, though, considering that he cut his teeth under Carter, served under Bill, and is a consultant to Al-Jazeera, (as well as Fox). Ginsburg on the road map.

The Pershing story dishoners a great American soldier.

More on Pershing

http://www.arlingtoncemetery.net/johnjose.htm

"In the hills of Western Mindanao, thirty miles from the sea, dwelt 100,000 Moros--proud, warlike Mammedans--whom the Spanish in 300 years had not been able to subjugate and who started a rebellion against the Americans as soon as the United States freed them from Spain. They were split up into dozens of bands, ruled over by sultans, and could defy all outside interference from supposedly impregnable jungle retreats. To Pershing, with the rank of only a captain in the Regular Army, was assigned the job of pacifying them.

Pershing prepared himself quietly for the ultimate job in his first two years in the islands, learning the native dialects and studying the Koran. His command included five troops of cavalry, a battalion of infantry, a battery of artillery and a company of engineers.

It was evident that to subjugate the Moros the Sultan of Bacolod, the most important of the Moro chiefs, must be conquered. This sultan held a strongly fortified position in the hills to the west of Lake Lanao with 600 fanatical
tribesmen. Captain Pershing tried by diplomacy to induce the Moros to lay down their arms, but they refused, and on April 5, 1903, he led his men against the fort in a clever surrounding movement and after defeating several small outpost groups of Moros charged the Moro entrenchments. This brought a halt to the insurrection and drew the congratulations of Secretary of War Elihu Root."
