Where's Ann Coulter? Why is Barnes & Noble hiding all copies of TREASON from their customers?

If you take a stroll to your local Barnes & Noble, in search of Ann Coulter's new book, Treason, you may find yourself looking long and hard for a copy. I found the purposely elusive, strategically placed best-seller only after nearly 10 minutes of browsing the bookstore.

Why is Barnes & Noble hiding this book? Treason is currently #3 at bn.com, easily beating out Living History, yet the Barnes & Noble on Monroe Street, in Toledo, Ohio, has conveniently removed the book from plain sight.

I landed at the new releases, best-sellers, non-fiction section; one whole shelf is dedicated to Ms. Clinton's lies (and 20% off too; 30% off, if you're a Reader's Advantage member).

But, no Ann Coulter.

In addition, although a best-seller, Treason is not on sale. Barnes & Noble has apparently broken their own policy by asking the cover price -- this is the first time EVER that I can recall Barnes & Noble asking the cover price for a new best-seller.

What's going on here and what can we do?

Go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow and just try to find Treason without asking for assistance. I’m serious – I dare you (and please post your findings).

Was in the Waldenbook store, Sandusky Mall, Ohio...my husband and I walked over to the top ten display. Saw the "666" book on the second row, with the "conservative blonde" book right next to it. Picked up Treason and behind it was another "beast" book! Had a freeper or another informed human already been there? Took another Treason book and covered the other one. (It was still covered an hour later when we walked by again!)
Walked on into the store, Treason was generously displayed in the front of the mall store as well as on another table and on the same table, facing the back of the store was Mrs. Stink Palm's (I saw that moniker here on another post...perfect)book with 25%off tags all over them.
I asked the clerk, "So who's book are you selling more of?"
He replied that Harry Potter is number one and Living History second. I said that must be Waldenbooks list and told him that Amazon, had Treason as 2 and hilda as 7. He acted surprized, "Really?" I told him, I have been watching the seller lists closely. I said now answer the question, whose book is selling more...the liar's or Coulter's? He just laughed and then showed my daughter the anime selections she was interested in. As we walked out, a lady was reviewing Treason, without disturbing the uhhh...rearranged display at the front!

I went to B&N after work, and they were out. The clerk said they'd run out earlier, a new shipment was on the way. She also sais that at one point someone had taken 4 or 5 of them and put them in front of HRC's books. Musta been a freeper. :-)

I went to Barnes and Noble and found the same thing...Hildebeast book was 30% off and you could NOT miss it as you enter the store.
TREASON, Coulter's book, was not visible. I asked the clerk and they put it right by the front door, BEHIND the security scanner. Coulter's book was FULL PRICE.
I can see the excuses now..."Coulter's book is even closer to the door than Hillary's"...but not visible.
So, I left and went to Sam's Club, bought the Coulter book for $15.86, a great price!

I went to purchase Treason in Rockford, Illinois. First, I went to borders. The Gen Y clerk told me "It was a hot seller" and that they had sold out. As I was leaving for B & N, an older couple asked the same clerk for the same book.

Across the street, at B & N, a cardboard display was prominently placed withing ten feet of the entrance ... and it was running low!

The checker told me she liked Ann Coulter, but preferred Mona Charen... not too bad for a bookstore type!

I am 60 pages into the book, and it is a very good read.

WHat liberals (and some others) call Ann's ranting is simply the response of an intelligent woman who sees insanity and pure evil (backing it up with simple but indisputable facts) and is trying to light a fire under people.

If one is going to "rant" about something, the indifferent toleration of treason is not a bad place to start.

(I was pointing out that the bookstore is more careful to hide Ann Coulter's book than to hide copies of Playboy)

Oh....I'm just thick this day. I tend to post stuff that is just sooo obvious to me at times too. Some people just don't get it. I guess I'm one of "them" today.

"Do you live in or near a large city? My theory is that the stores which have the book in plain sight cannot be in small cities. (but, I could be wrong)."

Not particularly big. The city is about 95,000 and the metro area is close to 200,000.

"I smiled as i made my way and wondered if it was in fact that they had sold out or if it was a ploy to make it harder to purchase the book."

Other have said the same -- there's no ploy. Book stores are in business to make money and they make money by selling books. They would not hide a book or deny they had any when you're standing there with fresh green cash. In fact, they'd be glad to sell you as many as you want.

I heard the very same thing. Sounds like quite a few kneepad managers should be fired...

I just received my book today that I ordered from Townhall Book service. If I were going to buy one from B&N and didn't find it displayed equally with other books of it's popularity, I would ask the manager if he would give me an address to make a complaint in regards to his descrimination against conservative authors.

I went to the B & N in Layton. They had a modest but prominent display of Screech Owl's lying rag, but Ann's book was buried back in current events. There were about 4 copies, so I took two of them and put them on top of Hitlery's display.

I asked the clerk why Ann's book wasn't on display with all the other B&N bestsellers (all of the other's on the list were there), and he said,"Oh, it just came out this week, it will be there next week". I asked if I could have it at the $18.86 price advertised on the website, but he wouldn't go for it. I bought it anyway, but I am going back this week to see if it's been moved, and if not, I am going to raise hell with the manager.

Never thought this could happen in the Red Zone.

I just visited my local Barnes & Noble. Last week, they had Ann's book practically hidden on the bottom of a circular display facing the "remainder" books. This week, they've at least moved it to where it's visible (on top of a table), but they STILL haven't reduced the price. This is the first time I can remember a best seller not being at least 20% off.
