God bless Strom Thurmond and his family.

When my great great great great grandfather took part of our family from Orange County, North Carolina, to a land grant in Tennessee, a written account said that when they passed The Hermitage, Jackson himself came out and invited them in for dinner.
What you just posted makes my family seem not so far in the past!

Well said, however it is sad that this is one of the few men still alive that represented Southerners proudly at the national level. For us, it is somewhat sad.

That's true also.

What a disgusting display that was. Weren't Hillary and Leahy behind keeping the Senate in session till after midnight every night, hoping Strom would collapse on the floor?
A special place in Hell waits for Democrats.
Everyone needs to read Ann Coulter's new book. It'll keep you mad and you won't come away with that old "No difference between the parties" feeling.

RIP Strom Thurmond

It's getting worse actually.
Now the sane people are getting berated and cries for damnation and grave urinating are becoming the standard.
What got me was one goaded them saying, "Let's not act like Freepers."
I guess they missed the Meynard Jackson thread.

A Dem will replace him because his governor is a Dem.
The first 100 years are the easiest.

Prayers for him and his family.

I wonder if all the sadistic SOBs over at the DUmp who are celebrating his death because he was a "racist", have ever read his civil rights record...

I was thinking that Strom had been a fixture in SC politics all my life -- and I'm a grandmother. But you know, I think he's been a fixture in SC politics all my FATHER'S life as well.
