Uh..I know that...but where is a Satan Character necessary to be played by an actor (actress?!!) Are they saying that we are going to see the biblically-correct Satan tempting Jesus in the desert? Isn't that a piece of wildly questionable directorial self-indulgence? Seems like it to me.

I cannot wait to see this movie!

It doesn't seem to me that Gibson intends (I'm guessing) to show the temptation in the desert, as this movie entails the last hours of Jesus before the crucifixion and that happened well before.

As to your evident umbrage at Gibson's intentions---I can only say that I don't share it.
