Nope, you get twenty years for shooting your drug dealer for selling you talcum powder. I agree, there was no deliberate intention to hit the man, but as soon as she realized he was alive, and dying due to her extreme negligence, she had an absolute duty to call for aid. If he had been saved, she would have gotten five years, tops. She's the one who chose a death sentence for her victim, and thus a life sentence for herself.

It is difficult to think of this killer as a human being. A horrible case.

how about 20 yrs?.....she can come out when she is fifty.....

With a 20 year sentence, she could be out in 5-10. Life sentence, and she won't have a chance for 40 years.

Go Texas!!

If this case had been tried in DeeCee, "Whitey" would have been charged and convicted of breaking and enetering and leaving the scene of an accident....

"Well she can scream "racism" and have this overturned by the USSC."

Is she from Tulia?

And you notice it took everyday, normal people TEXANS to do it. Not elite life appointed judges.

When the jury came back so quickly it was obvious to Mark Davis and the whole Dallas/Fort Worth listening audience that the guilty verdict was to come!

I must confess that I thought the exact same thing when the OJ Simpson jury came back with a verdict in FOUR hours! I was at a local department store and about 10-12 of us were watching a t.v. on display in the "home entertainment center." We were a "mixed" crowd and when the verdict was pronounced, one part of the "mixed" crowd began to hoop-n-holler as though their favorite sports team had just beaten the world champs in an overtime, sudden-death championship playoff game! T'was sickening to say the very least!

Anyway, my thinking was that since the verdict came in so quickly, that it was a strong possibility it would be "guilty." Boy, did I sure get fooled.

Hope they give the same sentence to the Bishop who did the hit and run. They're both sick and heartless.

It is amazing how skillful conservative political cartoonists are. Here is a political cartoon about the illegal tripled vehicle fees placed on California vehicle owners by Herr Davis.

I was listening to the final summation by the defense. If I heard him correctly he said that 'failing to act' is not grounds for a murder conviction you must 'commit an act'. I think driving home & putting your car in a closed garage is 'commiting an act of murder' in this case.
