Many recent items have caused me to think about what a great country we have here. For instance where else:

Can a foreigner who can barely speak the language become a respected, admired, millionaire baseball star by using an illegally corked bat, getting caught, then having his fine paid while he was given a 7 day vacation?

Can a disgraced, impeached, disbarred, fined, held in contempt, rapist former president become a millionaire giving speeches about how he fooled the people of the US for 8 years?

Can the 'wife' of the above be elected to the US senate from a state where she has never lived, write a book full of lies, and be given for her efforts $8,000,000?

Can a person of color get preferencial treatment in being admitted to law school and have the highest court in the land condone the policy even though more qualified people who are the wrong color are denied addmitance?

Illegal aliens cross the border illegally and demand that the hospital treat them freely, the schools provide free bi-lingual education for their children, and collect welfare?

Is this a great country or what?

Well, well.....true you say...

Considering the frightening oppression you have suffered, the tyranny imposed on you by our caste system, and the gulags in Montana stuffed with political prisoners;
I'd have to say that this is a great country, who's biggest flaw is being populated mostly with spoiled, complaining children.

I am a retired Army officer (artillery, MI, and chaplain). I have the privilege of teaching several classes in Colorado Springs to high school, college, and adults on comparative worldviews (biblical vs secular). As I read the various threads, some impress me as good for illustrating different worldviews. So, using some Army terminology, I mark "incidents" as "SPOTREPS" (spot report) and "descriptions of the current world scene" as "SITREPs" (situation reports). INTREP (Intelliegence Report) provides information of an event involving those of the "opposition;" INTSUM (Intelligence Summary) provides more general information. When I get home, I download these SPOTREPs and SITREPs to a database for future use.

As a spoiled complaining child I have to agree that this is a great contry but turned in the wrong direction while the Clinton's were in charge, hopefully we are fixing that.
