Ahnold will whip Fat Mong any day of the week. He will ride the crest of T#3 and Hispanic voters to become next governator of Kali (for what it's worth)

Hello stupids. Mexicans love action heroes!!!

Yeah. What the hell is wrong with Bruce Willis ? Unless he stabs babies in the backs of their necks for a pastime, he has to be more Conservative than Creep Schwollenpecker. Why not run him, instead ?

You are operating under a serious misconception. Under California law, Davis has already waited too long to resign and stop the process. By today -- because of the number of signatures officially filed (see other reports on FR) -- if Davis resigns, the Lt.-Gov. takes over as Acting Governor.

However, also per the law, the Lt.-Gov. stays in only until the recall election. Then, whoever wins that winner-take-all election becomes Governor. I am predicting now that if Arnold runs, Arnold wins. In a short election with many candidates, the one with highest name recognition is likely to win. I predict that Arnold will win with 24% of the total vote.

Al --

Read the California election law. It is NOW too late for Davis to derail the recall election by resigning in favor of Lt.-Gov. Bustamonte. The recall election is GOING TO TAKE PLACE. The only question is, who will win that replacement election.

My county clerk has just advised us that she has been notified by the CA Secretary of State's Office that the recall effort against Gov. Gray Davis, has qualified for the ballot. After signatures are verified statewide, the Secretary of State's Office will call an election, with possible election dates of November 2003 or March 2004 being considered.

Two references to California Elections law -- and not a single citation.

C'mon, Counselor. You can do better than that.

Be careful what you wish for, it may come to be.
Just for the record, Sonny Bono was a Republican.

Other entertainers, like Law and Order's Fred Thompson (search), R-Tenn., and the late singer Sonny Bono, D-Calif., were senators.

Just for the record, Sonny Bono was a Republican.

He was also a Congressman, not a Senator.

He's running as a modified, high-spending, pro-abortion RAT or RINO, but he has zero experience and no credibility. He may win thanks to the asininity of leftist CA voters and celebrity chasers.

I don't think he would be good. Rumors of womanizing and fears of Rino votes... nope, not too good.

Vote for the best person for the job.

Write-ins generally don't win. The best people generally have sense enough not to run.

Only a DU lurker would champion a RINO like Ah-nold.... Until we can get some real Conservative GOP leadership in there to turn the state around, things will never get better, and they sure as hell won't get better with a RINO pushing a 'Rat agenda as Ah-nold will do. So, yes, sir, I most certainly got a dog in this hunt.

Oh, Puh-LEEZ...

I ask you why you have such a crappy, DU-attitude, and you simply keep repeating your empty, silly little rants...

Go home. I your "mama" calling... Time to change your diapers...

The exact provision in the California Code was quoted elsewhere in this very thread than in my comments. Read the thread. No need for me to waste JimRob's bandwidth. It's there, and says EXACTLY what I said it did.

'Empty, silly little rants = FACTS.' You and your little cohorts can pathologically deny them like all of the Clinton defenders but it doesn't change the reality. You're supporting a liberal 'Rat in an elephant costume. And all this DU-style ad hominem attacks and attitude prove, yet again, that you, kiddo, lost the argument.

"Go home. I your "mama" calling... Time to change your diapers..."

I rest my case.

"I'd go 3rd party (AIP candidate) if those are the choices. If it's going to be a liberal, let it be a 'Rat. The GOP shouldn't be tarred and feathered with that failed ideology. Have we learned nothing from Goldwater and Reagan ? "

"Don't vote for the polititian who is going to do the most for you, vote for the one that says he's going to do the least TO you."

Mark Twain.

Throwing away your vote on an ideological binge isn't going to get you anywhere.

I would consider voting for a RINO like Ah-nold a wasted vote, mainly because you'd be a sell-out as a Conservative. It's a slap in the face to Ronald Reagan who helped take the party away from the left-wing in CA who gave us the likes of Earl Warren, George Christopher, and Tom Kuchel. Pray tell, again, why would somebody vote for a person who represents nothing more than a fictious "R" ?
