I have to admit, I am not real angry at this particular "criminal"

I have done far worse myself and throughly enjoyed every minute of it.

130+ in a 280-Z. Steering wheel in one hand, beverage in the other.

That sounds like fun.

The safety nazis have really clamped down to the point where going 15 over in some states is now an arrestable offense.

In the 50s in Los Angeles we used to do better than that on San Fernando Rd. between Fletcher Dr. and Glendale Ave. tuning up the race cars.

Did have a cop write me up one time when I ducked into Van de Kamps drive in in the sprint car, guess it looked kind of out of place with the rest of the street cars!

My best "official" speed was 167 MPH in a 55 MPH zone... Clocked by California Highway Patrol...

It was a 1969 Buick Skylark- with drum brakes, no cage. But it did have a pumped-up Big-Block Chevy and a Muncie 4-speed. It's amazing I didn't smoke a bearing, and become one with telephone pole...

Of course, the kind officers seemed impressed with the car, but not with the fact that I'd pushed it that far....

((((Sigh)))) Stupid youth.... :-P
