Students react to a speaker at Tehran's Amir Kabir University June 16, 2003. Iran said it had sent an official protest to the United States over what it called blatant interference in its internal affairs after Washington cheered six nights of pro-democracy protests. (Reuters) |

A bump for freedom and may each and every brave soul be blessed. I saw an article today that said our special forces were already in Iran. Hope it's true.

Dr. Zin---Please do not get your hopes for US military intervention up too high. I do NOT see that as certain.
It is possible that down the line if the Mullahs are still in charge and Iran is about to complete its nuclear program, and all else has failed, you may see an Osirik type operation. Do not make the mistake the Iraqis made in 1991.
To: the Real fifi
Good comment in your #93. I don't think US intervention is a sure bet either, although I believe with our special forces we are doing a lot to help the protestors behind the scenes.

Reza Pahlavi, son of the former Shah of Iran has just released a letter to [Kofi] Asking the UN for help with a revolution is like hiring Michael Jackson as a babysitter.

I doubt that. I expect they are trying to gather information on the ground about the Iranian WMD and AQ links---if in fact the Special Forces are there.
To: DoctorZIn
But we will continue to shed our blood, if that is what it takes to obtain the freedom we seek. And the leftist media would have us believe they all hate America in those parts. Turns out that some of them actually think like Americans!

IF special forces are in Iraq, as a few articles I've read indicate, they will also be trying to rouse the Iranian civilians to protest against the mullahs. It's a big part of what they do.
The Iranian goverment has said today they are considering permitting the UN in to inspect for WMD and nuclear facilities.
