This article is crap and fails to recognize many things, such as how Alexander´s Empire spread the ideas of personal enterprise throughout the entire ancient world...and how Napoleon´s France brought ideas about the natural rights of man to the entirety of Europe. No one can possibly blame Napoleon for all those deaths, for the wars were often brought upon him, leaving him no choice to fight.

The last part of this article shows the contempt this person has for these two very important and great men...as he redicules Napoleon´s final physical condition. Having one´s body go out does not make one less of a man. The life he lived through battle after battle through night after night administering both to France and the Empire would take that toll on anyone´s body...and I guarantee this idiot author would not be able to spend one week doing Napoleon´s work without having major health complications.

This guy is slamming the left...that is amazing. This guy IS a leftist...by failing to realize how certain right wing ideals were advanced by these two men...

True to an extent, Alexander, was, however, very lucky, to come on the Persian Empire when it was ailing and swallow it whole. "His" Empire was really the Persian Empire with a few bits stuck on. The so-called governing skills were actually Persian -- remember the Persians had an Empire stretching from Egypt to Central Asia, from the borders of GReece to India.

A more heroic conqueror is Cyrus the Great of Persia or Darius the Mede.

The only time Alexander's army met a reasonably matched opponent -- Porus, he narrowly won. And Porus was a very minor King, probably a client of a satrap of the Persian Empire.

Alexander's men heard of the Magadhan army in Central India that was even then carving an Empire westwards and they took fright and urged him to turn back.
