"Palmeiro's only 39 years old!
I never heard of sexual dysfunction in a man that age unless he's had a physical injury of some kind."
Or is diabetic or has multiple sclerosis or is a black man with hypertension or...
Need I go on?

I hope he isn't abusive towards your Aunt and the kids. Never (and he manages to go to mass every morning), but he's been a slave to the beer, TV and isolation for decades. His 45-year-old son died of the same disease a few years ago.

For myself, fidelity wouldn't even rank in the top five requirements in my marriage. How convenient for you.

The article that you posted had not been previously posted to this thread. I actually don't have any problem with what the guy says, and the comments that I made were directed at other issues.

How convenient for you. In what way?

"There are numerous methods of having sex, only one of which carries the risk of pregnancy."
But they all carry the risk of disease.

Or is diabetic or has multiple sclerosis or is a black man with hypertension or... Need I go on? No. Do you even know who Rafael Palmeiro is?
And, everything you mention is a physical malady. Which is, basically what I said.

You need to have about $100K annual income before you are allowed to have one :0)

>>>>The wedding is at City Hall in Los Angeles. They've been engaged for 2 years, known each other (as friends) for 4 years. Since they moved out here from Connecticut, they've been hit financially hard, so when he got hit with the mother of all state tax bills they decided to forgo the big wedding in Hawaii and just make it legal. I told them they can renew their vows, or have the marriage blessed later on. We're driving out first thing tomorrow to pick up the grandbaby and her mother tomorrow. Baby is doing great :)>>>>>
That is a wise choice even in good times. Always better to spend money wisely than waste it on day kissing a bunch of people you don't know. LOL Weddings seem like such a tragic waste of money and just add to the financial stress of marriage when a couple is starting out. That is easy for me to say though since they didn't have dreamy magazines of white weddings where I grew up. I just never saw the point. Romance comes in many different formats. :)
Enjoy what is the treasure... them uniting amongst close friends and family.

But if you are still celibate at 33, there is something wrong. Make that 35, please?

A third factor is that for those of us who don't care for the bar scene, it's hard to meet people. I'm certainly no social butterfly, but I'm not a hermit either. However, I can't remember the last time my normal life brought me in contact with someone who would even be worth dating. Once one leaves college, the opportunities to meet people just aren't there. I met some women in church, but my perspective was always just a little too off-kilter to attract them. Most would say that my ideas were reasonable and thoughtful, but they'd rather date guys who just blindly parroted the "party line." I don't go to bars, don't leave the house after dark, actually. The most fun I've had is FReeping Gov Gray Davis a couple of times since my divorce. I went back to school and everyone except my professors are young enough to be my children. Yeah it's hard to find someone suitable, especially when the 2 kids at home are a little ornery, not to mention my listening tastes....conservative talk radio and heavy metal. We won't even get into my sense of humor.

Bikini girls grow in trees. Where can I get one of those trees?
Trust me, you can't afford it. :-)

LOL You once said I was as weird as you. I think your right. :)

Fidelity is a character issue. If you can't trust someone not to step out on you, how can you trust them at all?

If I had a son that was 33, and had been celibate for 10 years, during his sexual prime, I'd think there was something wrong with him. If my son had been celibate at 13 or 23, much less 33, I would have sent him to a Psychiatrist and an Endocrinologist.

I never said they should get engaged (formally) after six months, but she needed assurance that they weren't going to be Friends Forever and that all the abstaining would be to a purpose, someday.
He couldn't give her that, and probably should have known his feelings weren't equal to hers a lot earlier on.

FYI,
My Chuck Colson posting wasn't directed to you in particular. Hitting 'Post Reply' to a specific comment is the only way I know to post to an existing thread.

Never (and he manages to go to mass every morning), but he's been a slave to the beer, TV and isolation for decades. His 45-year-old son died of the same disease a few years ago. Well at least that's something. Sorry to hear about your cousin though. That's got to be hard for your Aunt.
