Tampa area I believe. That's where his E.I.B. studio is located anyhow.

I could swear he lives on the East coast and that the studio is in his home. Actually I believe the studio is still in New York, but he broadcasts mostly from Florida.

I believe Rush lives in or near Jupiter on the east coast (where Burt Reynolds has his pad). Rush has mentioned on occasion that he broadcasts from a studio in his home with the transmission going through the EIB station in New York. Someone correct me if this is wrong.

Perhaps the author of this article might some day also direct energy towards an in-depth investigation of the Poynter Institute, an endowed liberal foundation which owns and controls the left-wing St. Petersburg Times, the rag commonly known here in west-central Florida as Pravda West.

PRECISELY what is wrong with politically active people attempting to sway others to the right side of the aisle?

Good point. Anyone know the breakdown of liberal vs conservative foundations and how much money each controls?

When I read Dem sites, it seems to me there are people devoting an awful lot of time and energy to "tracking" conservative sites and organizations. Now, do these liberals spend half as much time taking notes on liberal organizations? I don't know. They always make it sound like there aren't any to track.

The far left is certainly paranoid. It's rather entertaining.

The socialists who track conservative foundations are funded by liberal foundations. Soros and the Schumann Foundation fund Tompaine.com. But that is OK. George Soros is working in the public interest.

Anyone know the breakdown of liberal vs conservative foundations and how much money each controls?

I haven’t run across a comprehensive study as yet, but here is an interesting article on the subject:

http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=6196

The Left is massively funded. What’s more, since liberals completely dominate Academia, they receive funding from college tuitions, and in the case of public universities, from taxes, as well.

Some money quotes from the article:

“Not only are the Left-leaning foundations trumping the right by over $51 billion dollars in assets [in the article the author is comparing the largest Right foundations vs. the Left] they are also outspending the Right at a furious pace. The numbers clearly how the Left is being funded at a rate of more than twenty-six times what the Right is being granted by foundations that have 53-times the resources. For clarity, I am defining "left-wing" as foundations that overwhelmingly fund feminist, environmentalist, anti-capitalist and anti-consumer groups. "Right-wing" is defined by those that consistently fund groups promoting individual rights, have a pro-market stance and support limited government.”

“Another longwinded, and false, claim of he Left is that American politics are bought and paid for by right-wing funding. However, the figures available at the non-partisan Open Secrets website give lie to this claim, as well. For the years spanning 1990-2002, the top corporate contributors to politicians were giving $3.77 to Democrats for every $1.00 given to Republicans. In addition to garnering the overwhelming majority of union monies donated to political campaigns, the Democrats receive top dollar from Goldman Sachs and AOL Time-Warner. They also receive approximately half of all campaign donations from corporate powerhouses such as AT&T, Citigroup, Inc., FedEx Corp., Ernst & Young, Bank Of America and Lockheed Martin.”

"The "Hollywood Set" is also overwhelming in their support for Democratic candidates, with funding coming from sources such as Jeffrey and Marilyn Katzenberg (Walt Disney), Gail Zappa (widow of musician Frank Zappa), David Geffen, Food-4-Less supermarket mogul Ron Burkle, Lew Wasserman, Rob Reiner and Tom Hanks."

The nationwide family-values push wasn't enough to get Jeb Bush elected Florida's governor in 1994.

This is a blatant lie. JEB would have won in '94 except that at the last minute the Democratic/Socialist party had hordes of their useful idiots making phone calls to the elderly Florida residents saying JEB was getting ready to cut their social security payments and scared them into voting for Childs.

Yes, I noticed that lie as well. Thanks for your post, pointing it out. I meant to do so as well.

BTW, that is really something I admire about Gov Bush, unlike Gore, in that Gov Bush also experienced a painful defeat but Gov Bush did not respond by going on Saturday Night Live and ending his political career. Instead, Gov Bush went off and founded the state's first charter school, working with a black leader in Miami, and ran again -- and won. And, then, won a 2nd time, in the biggest landslide to hit this state in some time. Good for Gov Bush for hanging in there -- and not sulking off somewhere. He has taken his lumps but did not stay down for long. :)

Lol...worse than I thought. Congressman B. Carroll Reece investigated foundations in the early 1950s (many were communist fronts) but the GOP loss of House in 1954 ended that.

I can see it now in the Florida newspapers:

"FLORIDIAN LIBERALS SEEK REFUGEE STATUS IN CUBA"
SAY THEY ARE BEING "PUSHED OUT" BY CONSERVATIVES
by Di N. Day

Coast Guard authorities are having a tough time keeping the throngs of people from departing Florida's shores via wooden ships, lifeboats, rafts, inner tubes and various other modes of transportation. One officer points out a tired and wet liberal womyn drifting out to sea, the only thing keeping her afloat the empty bottle of Evian water she hopes will take her to a country that is more accomodating to her beliefs. Before taking to the brilliant blue waters of the Atlantic, she cried out to her fellow travelers preparing to follow, "It's the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy that's at fault! Thank goddess for Castro!"

We look through the telescope aboard the Coast Guard's ship and see she is wearing only a Dixie Chicks T-shirt, hoping its light weight will allow her to keep her backpack on and prevent her from sinking to the depths that all liberals are likely to descend. We heighten the magnification of the 'scope to see a signed copy of Living History and yesterday's New York Times sticking out of the backpack. The colorful stickers, "No War for Oil" and "Bush is Hitler" have become saturated and are peeling off, and it looks like the 8:30 tonight, my place in Georgetown, Hillary Rodham Clinton signature is getting a soaking from the salty spray. One hopes the rolled-up New York Times will still be able to serve its purpose as fish wrap when she reaches Havana.

This womyn is only one of the hordes of leftists swimming with mad intensity, gulping for air and getting serious stomach cramps as they struggle in the ocean like flotsam in the wake of a garbage barge on a New Jersey shore. "It's something we'll need to take care of eventually," says the Coast Guard officer, "but we're awfully busy with the traffic coming the other way. We wish them well in their pursuit of their goal of "Freedom through Communism" but we're certain none of them will make it."

LOL....the thing that's sad is how a group of entertainment execs went to visit Castro last year, and they returned to the US with glowing reports of what a great time they had with him, smoking cigars and all. I mean, geesh, Castro is another brutal dictator. Yet, Dem leaders/contributors always seem want to hang out with guys like that. It's not exactly a "vote getting" strategy, IMO.
