Right-wing talkmeister Michael Savage is raging against a report suggesting he was once a good deal freindlier toward gays.

Radar magazine reports that, back when he was a botanist known as Michael Weiner, the syndicated radio host was freindly with poet Allen Ginsberg. According to the mag, on March 8, 1970, Savage wrote to Ginsberg, who visited him in Fiji:

"After speaking to you on the phone...I walked downstairs to the school courtyard, where a little-known black brother looks at me, takes my hand gently, we do some old-world lower east side finger tricks, and he peacefully kisses the back of my hand - I do the same for his hand. I told him about our brief talk and he says, 'I must have felt the vibes."

Radar says the letter can be found among Ginsberg's collected papers at Stanford University. Ginsberg, who belonged to the North American Man/Boy Love Association, wouldn't seem to be on the "buddy list" of Savage, who once said, "The gay and lesbian mafia wants our children!"

But then, Radar reports, Savage's "thinly disguised confessional" novel, "Vital Signs,"did have a protagonist who admitted he was drawn to "masculine beauty," saying, "I choose to override my desires for men when they swell in me."

Savage, who is married, calls the Radar story a "smear campaign" launched by "gay fascist."

"Maybe I have amnesia," Savage tells us. But "I never wrote such a letter."

this is a homosexual activist tactic. Use revisionism to make everyone a homosexual. Why do they want children (children!!!) to label themselves as homosexual or be labeled as homosexual as early as possible. (see california, David Limbaugh wrote a piece on this) This means that they can increase their numbers and use the you can't un-gay yourself theory. (nature/nurture/pc) Abraham Lincolm might have been gay is another revisionist slur. They claim as many dead famous people despite the complete or controverting evidence. This is done to claim "heros". In this situation their goal is to shame people into not denying it because that would imply its a bad thing.

Its like not saying how a person became HIV positive. If you say transfusion its a far cry from promiscuous homosexual sex. (even needle sharing is less onerous than homosexual sex because of the addict angle) The fact that Savage is calling being accused of being a homosexual a slur is probably irksome to the homosexuals since the goal is to force pc comments out of people.

Nice hit piece.
I consider Savage tol be a flamboyant opportunistic ranter.
However, unlike Rush or Hannity he is educated and knows
quite ab it about the subjects he chooses.

I find the "revelations" of Michael Weiner's past
association with leftists to be intersting, but the
conclusion is not valid.
The simple fact is that many prominent conservatives were
leftists in their youths.
Richard Weaver weant from being a follower of Charles Beard
to being a Southern Agrarian.
Most of the early writers for National Review were cultural
Jews and former communists.

The Sexuality thing is more titilating, but to what end?
Savage/Weiner makes it clear that he does not care what
consenting adults do in private.
Was the younger Michael Weiner a practicing homosexual?
Only he and any potential partners would know. Likewise
with any attraction to men. However, if he did supress
these drives, then doesn't that put the lie to the gay
claim of homosexuality and bisexuality being inate?
These articles are good examples of the childish views of
"authenticity" of the new left.
Whittaker Chambers was a communist in the 1930's when the
CP was partially a dating club for homosexuals and other
sexual devients.
