A Manhattan church that rented space to a synagogue reportedly evicted its tenants Saturday, citing threats made against the Jewish worshippers.
According to the New York Post, the Rock Church on East 62nd Street has split time in its building with Congregation Beth-El of Manhattan Messianic Synagogue since December 1997. But Rabbi Bruce Cohen told the paper that the Protestant church locked the doors on him and his congregation Saturday, forcing him to perform a bar mitzvah in his own home.
Church officials told him that an Arab looking man had threatened the church to "get rid of the Jews - or else, the rabbi told the Post. Cohen said the church had informed him of a rent increase last October and later received an eviction notice that cited the threat.
As dozens of congregants waited outside in the rain Saturday, the church pastor allowed the rabbi inside, with a police escort, to retrieve his Torah scrolls, valued at $15,000, according to the Post.
Church officials refused to comment to the paper.

There is more to this story than meets the eye I think...if you knew Bruce Cohen, this story wouldn't surprise you at all.

There is more to this story than meets the eye I think...if you knew Bruce Cohen, this story wouldn't surprise you at all. I though it unusual that Jews would rent space and hold services in a church. But, I know nothing of Rabbi Cohen. What is it you think we should know so as not to be surprised?

I just did a search on Google, on Rabbi Bruce and a lot
of articles containing "Jews For Jesus" were included.
If that is of any importance....I'm not sure..

I though it unusual that Jews would rent space and hold services in a church.Actually, it is not all that unusual, given the cost of space here.

I would have seen that Arab's threat as a damn fine excuse to get me a machine gun to protect my flock!

the church pastor allowed the rabbi inside, with a police escort, to retrieve his Torah scrolls, How Nice...A police escort? I assume the pastor didn't trust the Rabbi at all, then.
I am sickened.

These are the same kind of "Christians" as the ones who when faced with threats by the Gestapo sent their Jewish neighbors to extermination camps.
