Can you give an example of a practical future application for this knowledge? I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I'm really curious.

I can't, really, because not knowing the physics, we can't say what its capabilities are. This is basic research. I can speculate, but that would be more to excite your imagination than to tell you what to expect.

One analogy would be to consider the uses to which we put electricity, and to compare it to what Ben Franklin might have said, had you asked him to list the applications after his first experiments with lightning. There's no way he could even have scratched the surface of the implications.

Quantum computers, and that is NO joke, will be multiprocessing, light speed, a million times more power then todays computers. All because of physics.

That's ok, I like having my imagination excited! I wish more money were put into pure science instead of the broken promises of the snake oil salesmen.

Can't wait to see the results!

Aha!!!

My daughter is beta testing Star Wars Galaxie right now. Sounds like you're talking about real virtual reality. I like it!

Very good. Now tell me the supersymmetry breaking parameters, the electroweak cutoff scale, the mass of the Higgs boson, the CKM matrix parameters...

You'll find it in the little-known, long-lost Book of Parameters, Chapter I. It was supposed to come before Genesis in The Book. :-)

also financially backed by the United States which 10 years ago abandoned an even larger one for cost reasons.

Actually incorrect. It was not abandoned for cost reasons, it was abandoned by a certain rapist because it was in Texas and the people of Texas had had the nerve to elect TWO Republican Senators to represent them.

when Bush 41 cut the funding

A gratuitous and incurrect attack on GWB's dad. It was Clinton that cut the funding.

Thank you, but that correction has already been made.

But, it would seem, they are simply the means men/humans have devised to explain what the Creator did. -LiteKeeper-

Believe whatever you like, but these aren't "just so" stories.

Attacking what he did not say. He did not say that science is wrong. He said that naturalism is wrong and has been proven so by science since naturalism proposes randomness where science has shown order. In other words, to make it real plain and simple to you NATURALISM IS NOT SCIENCE, IT IS THE OPPOSITE OF SCIENCE.

Proving the Bible -- God wrong (( impossible )) isn't going to make evolution right (( impossible )) --- waste of time !
