Sunday, at our church picnic, we talked to a great young man who grew up in our church and is attending UCB. He is about as conservative as you can be. He wants to be an engineer and got a partial scholarship at UCB. He just finished his first year at UCB and is still normal.

He was telling us that most protests at UCB were utter failures re numbers of protesters, this past year. The few that he passed going to or from college appeared to made up of old hippies and non college students.

He had a math instructor like yours in the first semester. This rocket scientist did participate in the protests.

I agree. But alot of these people are already in here. We need to root out the ones in here too. Look at the guys in Buffalo. They were born here. All it takes is a little brain washing. We should refuse to let anyone fly to any Arab country without good reason! And we should also make sure no training is done in this country. These guys easily fly back to their country for training and then return safely to this country as U.S. citizens to do their dirty deeds!

Yes. And there have not been any successful attacks in the USA since 911. You seem to be blaming the victim for fighting back. They started this, we did not. If we had not gone into Afghanistan, the Al Qaeda terror machine would still be humming along on all four cylinders. It is now sputtering on 2 cylinders. Yes, they could still inflict harm, but they are not as organized and potent as they were. And that IS the SUCCESS that you seem to jeer. If we had not gone into Iraq, Al Qaeda would have been successful in getting Afghanistan-II off the ground. That we disrupted that is also a SUCCESS.

At this point in time, I am not prepared to give full credence to the CIA and other security agencies. We are still looking for Iraq's WMDs.

I'm sure that Al-Quida could do all sort of awful things.
Many members of Al-Quida are educated sorts, e.g., college/university graduates,
even some from schools in "The West".

If they didn't use nukes/chem/bio terror about a year ago...all I can think is
that they are not fools.
They realize (as one captured Al-Quida member said about the planning for 9-11) that
totally taking off their gloves will mean this:
"Things might get out of hand."

And I think they are smart enough to realize that if they escalate to real WMD to
guess the real outcome:
1. true suffering in the USA/UK/Coalition countries (or foreign installations) when
Al-Quida strikes...
AND
2. A declaration of a war on Al-Quida and any country with even a whiff of
agreement with Al-Quida (and fellow travelers) that will end only with total defeat,
surrender and desolation of most Muslim countries.

I don't like pain, suffering and death...but a small, tired bit of me says to
Al-Quida and their fellow travelers: bring it on. That way we can throw them all
onto the ash-heap of history and get on with making the world a better place.
