Say no more - we on the east coast are not too familiar with replays, due to the direction the winds blow the radio waves.
I just called KSFO at 415-954-7449 and gave them an earfull!! Told them they lost another faithfull listener!
HANNITY??? grumble grumble spit!!!

Now that he's syndicated he can probably demand more $$$. Hmmm. Who called who's bluff? I think the on-air schedule gives us our answer. Radio is about dollars, which you knew, and if the dollars going out did not justify the dollars coming in, changes are made. It's also possible there's been a "drop-off" in new listenership during Savage's show. One of the traffic watch pilots here is EXTREMELY conservative, and was a huge Savage fan for about a year. Bought several copies of the book, autographed, gave them as gifts, had animated discussions with the other pilots (one very socialist, unfortunately, which is a bad trait for a reality-based pilot), etc.
When we spoke a few weeks ago, he had stopped listening as long, and as frequently (both sources of gold in ratings) because after he gets through the issues at the top of the hour, he'd heard it all before, and didn't invest the time. He still agrees with him a lot, but doesn't spend that kind of time plugged into his show.
Just a guess...
I'm enjoying them. I alternate b/w Lee and Mel on KSFO and Armstrong & Getty on 910 in the morning, depending on my mood and the topics. Glenn Beck is on 10-1, which is when I get most of my transcription done and don't listen to the radio. Neal Boortz is 1-4 - he's very interesting as well (and a pilot, which interests me), and then Larry Elder at 4. I don't listen to Phil Hendries at 7 - I'll turn to Brian Wilson instead.
Larry is an extremely intelligent, savvy, and reasonable guy, and will do a LOT to bring the "victicrat structure" to its knees. I believe he's considering running for public office. I'd vote for him in a minute.
Let me know what you think! Cheers, CC

Well, KSFO has it ALL over 910 in the morning drive and 7-9. Lee Rodgers is THE sharpest interviewer out there, and he gets more meat out of a guest than anyone I've listened to in a long time. I think he's a treasure. Brian Sussman, his Monday fill-in, is also good, although he doesn't have Lee's extensive interviewing pedigree.
No contest b/w Phil Hendrie and Brian Wilson. Faked schtick callers for the purpose of provoking controversy leaves me cold.

I for one do not like Sean Hannity and if this is the new format - with him on at 4:00 - KSFO has lost a listener. I cannot believe that Savage didn't say something last week if there was a problem with renewal.
To: bootless
Savage has something most hosts don't have. He can get down to the soul of a situation. Whatever their reason, ksfo will lose out to 910 without Mike. Ksfo will be only a morning station and they are going to feel the bite.

I wonder what the permanent schedule solution will be an hour of live, three hours of rerun, and an orphan hour of Sean at 9 pm is not elegant. But they have what seem to be unrestricted rerun rights to Sean's show, so they'll plug the holes until everything settles out. I would like to hear 3 hours of Sean live, 12-3, and if they have to run Dr. Laura, do it in the after-school hours. Maybe they could start Brian early and run him late, 6-10? and then jump into Coast.

You hit it. Less Dr. Laura or at night. More Sean and Michael. Lee, Mel,Vic, Rush,Sean and Michael are what people set their auto tunes to.

thanks - well, it looks like Savage is off the schedule, so it's to Plan B. Dr. Laura during workplace hours is not so swell, although it makes for interesting lunchtime conversation around here. It does provide some good teaching moments for the afterschool crowd.
Hey, ya think KSFO will hire me for my programming expertise? :-)
Actually, if they wanted to kick some butt, they'd get Laura Ingraham's show, which I can't get around here.

They could have at least got Jeff Metcalf back! Or, how about bringing Jim "DIAMOND" Easterling(sp?) out of retirement.
To: bootless
Maybe they should hire you, they are listening to the wrong people I think. Now that Michael is gone...I'm gone. Ksfo has just lost an after 12:00 am listener. Think I'll go water the yucca plant.

KSFO says that Savage didn't renew the contract. Why would they lie? It seems to me that the "technical difficulty" he refers to is the lack of another Bay Area outlet yet. I don't think this is KSFO's doing at all. They said to me that they were unhappy about it. Go figure.

women don't like angry men when the powers that be do everything in their power to provoke men, I'm suprised there are not more men who just snap.
