nice post. i'm sitting cracking up like you wouldn't believe.

i feel the same way except that i've dated these real women, they just weren't THE ONE, like the Neo of girls.

not those shaving stunt-women you've been fortunate enough to date.

don't worry about me. i'm not down about it. if i REALLY wanted it, I'd get it now, but i'd rather have it happen naturally.
that is, the whole romance, relationship, marriage, and family. i'm just wondering if i'm doing the right thing by waiting until i'm financially stable or if i should just get it over with or what?

anyway, thanks for your amusing input and very entertaining posts today. time for some beer and food and sleep and then work at 3am, so i'll see you and bushdude later.

WOW. That's stunning. Must be the MSNBC producer then ... not his regular radio producer, who has a universally good rep in the local radio community. Could you keep me up to date on this one?

Thanks, just did and sent to two other listeners to do the same. I added that the old KSFO bumper sticker I got at Michael's Prop 209 Rally was starting to get faded anyways. I won't return and a new KSFO sticker won't go back on until Savage returns. Fortunately, there are plenty of other stations and alternative ways to listen to his great show...

On 4 seperate ocassions when Weiner read print articles about him over the air, I followed his verbatim reading while looking at the text of the article, and where the reporter mentioned his real name, Weiner either skipped over that part of the article or slyly substituted "Savage" instead. The same with regard to Weiner's Jewish ethnicity. Weiner would omit references to the fact that his grandfather, Sam Weiner, had fled Russia. For instance, "the son of a Russian Jewish immigrant" as written was heard on-air as "son of an immigrant." Admittedly, there is no crime in changing one's name, but I doubt the people you mentioned would have the chutzpah to ridicule others for doing the same thing they did! Weiner mocks Marty Sheen by calling him "Marty Estevez" and Geraldo Rivera by calling him "Jerry Rivers," and Larry King by calling him "Larry Seltzer," etc. Seems to me rather hypocritical, but I'd be happy to entertain your explanation.

"By the way if you are listening to me in the Bay area and you can't get me in San Francisco, there are tech---
KSTE, 650 on the dial, this too shall pass- let me put it to you that way- whatever the technical difficulties are I'm sure this too shall pass. Life is that way and ultimately at the end of the day there is freedom of speech. There is ultimately freedom of speech; we do not live in Stalin Russian no matter how many little men there are in America; no matter how many tiny teeny-weeny Stalins there are in America ultimately free speech shall rule; no matter how many mean little men ultimately free speech shall reign; no matter HOW MANY TINY LITTLE WOULD-BE MARTINETS THERE ARE at the end of the day, free speech shall reign no matter whatever the technical difficulties may be. And that's why I say we'll fix all those technical difficulties; we'll find out which engineers are screwing up; and we shall move on." (6-5-03 broadcast)

With all due respect Elephantman, it seems to me somewhat tacky to blame innocent "engineers for screwing up." Moreover, my guess is that "consummate pro" is probably not what would have come to the minds of the "teeny weeny Stalins" whom Weiner attacks above. Of course, you were in the radio biz, so maybe it is SOP to blame others for one's pitfalls.

Indeed, I see a remarkable similarity between Weiner's schtick and Norm Liebmann's writings. See, for instance, Leibmann's article on Feinstein and Boxer. Now, I would not go so far as to call it plagiarism, but the resemblance is uncanny. It would not surprise me in the least if Liebmann (a TV comedy writer) sells his material to Weiner (who had visions of becoming the next Lenny Bruce).

Whoa, that's some diatribe. Blaming the engineers ... minor league.

Controversy = ratings boost. The "evil station manager" didn't go running into the control room and pull the Big Red Switch on him.

Is that what he's saying, that it was spite? It was business, that's all. Contract decisions are based on dollars and cents. If he was pulling in enough advertising dollars to justify a contract, it's a net gain for the station. Anything else is an exaggeration. That is the truth. Let's not get out of the margins here...

Where is Savage?

Right Now the Station that I made famous has chosen to take me off the air out of spite. Beginning July 1, 2003, I will be heard again in the San Francisco Area. Right now you may be able to hear me on 650AM on the dial (KSTE) in my regular time slot between 4-7PM broadcasting live, from Sacramento, California.

Very soon, the whole story will be told. In the meantime, you can support The Savage Nation and me by sponsoring the organization and telling your friends to listen to me on KSTE 650AM on the dial, until July 1, 2003.

Stands to reason that in SF, the heart of liberalism, they'd run him off the air. They don't want him heard there. But as Mike said, in July another station will pick up the show.

Well, based on that statement, I'm sorry, but I can't believe him. And I'm not saying this to be argumentative, really. I don't post like that. The incredible thing is, in a small business like broadcasting (yes, it is! The grapevine is unparalleled), like any business I guess, you have GOT to make a graceful exit. Somehow, it always works out that the ONE person you p*** off, is the ONE person who hold the decision-making power over the ONE job you really want. Plus, it's just better business. I know I would respect that a lot more, and I'm no wuss.

I do know that there are two sides to this story, and only one half is being broadcast. Any business that makes its decisions based on emotion deserves to close its doors within 48 hours. And I would need to see some hard, cold facts for me to believe that this is the case.

I'm not bashing Michael - his national success is the result of a lot of hard work, and as a conservative, I will never bash hard work and success. But I am disappointed that he is taking this tack.

THat piece of land will only see a temporary peace contract. But beware all JEWISH friends, its not the citizens of Palestine but its the hidden monsters that want you destroyed.
