"By the way if you are listening to me in the Bay area and you can't get me in San Francisco, there are tech---
KSTE, 650 on the dial, this too shall pass- let me put it to you that way- whatever the technical difficulties are I'm sure this too shall pass. Life is that way and ultimately at the end of the day there is freedom of speech. There is ultimately freedom of speech; we do not live in Stalin Russian no matter how many little men there are in America; no matter how many tiny teeny-weeny Stalins there are in America ultimately free speech shall rule; no matter how many mean little men ultimately free speech shall reign; no matter HOW MANY TINY LITTLE WOULD-BE MARTINETS THERE ARE at the end of the day, free speech shall reign no matter whatever the technical difficulties may be. And that's why I say we'll fix all those technical difficulties; we'll find out which engineers are screwing up; and we shall move on." (6-5-03 broadcast)

With all due respect Elephantman, it seems to me somewhat tacky to blame innocent "engineers for screwing up." Moreover, my guess is that "consummate pro" is probably not what would have come to the minds of the "teeny weeny Stalins" whom Weiner attacks above. Of course, you were in the radio biz, so maybe it is SOP to blame others for one's pitfalls.

Whoa, that's some diatribe. Blaming the engineers ... minor league.

Controversy = ratings boost. The "evil station manager" didn't go running into the control room and pull the Big Red Switch on him.
