A remnant Clintonista rouge FBI dude shooting as usual at the unarmed. Would have gotten a major promotion under Reno/Clinton Justice Dept.

Braga's lawyer should be denied the opportunity for sepukku since his plea on behalf of this ill-begotten "fibbie" is totally without redeeming virtue.

Braga's only honorable course of action is to simply throw himself on the mercy of the court. Anything else is disgusting beyond belief.

Frankly, Braga should pay for his stupidity and not me as a federal taxpayer. I don't care if it reduces him to penury. Heck, if it had happened earlier he might have found Eric Rudolph even sooner over at the community dumpster.

In other words, the agent just admitted in open court that he mistakenly killed an innocent person. The only question remaing, then, is the amount of the damages, since all that ever matters regarding civil damages is whether or not you have wrongfully injured someone.

Intent to do wrong is an issue that only matters in a criminal prosecution. The agent's belief that the victim was a dangerous criminal reaching for a gun might save him from a criminal prosecution, but it should not shield him and his employer from a civil suit for damages. If you think otherwise, try your argument out the next time you are at fault in a car accident. Your lack of malicious intent, confusion, temporary blindness, mechanical breakdown, or whatever, won't reduce the dollar amount of the judgement against by one penny.

Interesting that this article says nothing about the victim being an Eagle Scout.

Indexing. The FBI agent who mistakenly shot an unarmed Eagle Scout in the face with a (1) short-barrelled (2) fully automatic (3) >10-round magazine post-1994 .223 machine gun admits he shot an innocent person, and wants to throw out a lawsuit against him as being "without merit."

he and two other agents argued that a $10 million federal lawsuit brought by shooting victim Joseph C. Schultz lacks merit and should be dismissed.

" ..lacks merit..." -- Just a bullet in the face, nothing to get snippy about.

1. Braga is a liar.

2. If I had a choice, I would not trade the horendous injury this young man received for a guaranteed $10 million. The surgery to "repair" his jaw did not do anything like repair it. The correct word is possibly "patch" the injury.

3. Has anyone seen an after-surgery picture of the victim? I bet there is a lot of permanent disfigurement. I hope whatever settlement is reached impoverishes Braga for the rest of his life. 40 or 50 years of living on dog food would be too good for this sub-human, but it would be a good start.

4. I would not mind at all my tax dollars going to compensate the victim. We will never be able to compensdate him completely, but $10 million would be a good start. Don't forget his lawyer will take at least 30% and maybe more.

5.The FBI budget shopuld be reduced by even more than the award. The way to gert them to change is punishment.

Braga should be in jail for what he did. The kid and his girls bore no resemblance to the people the FEEBS were looking for. The car was a different make model and COLOR than the one they were looking for.

Braga ordered thge kid out of the car after having made him hold up his hands, then shot him while he reached to unbuckle his seatbelt.

The government should not be protecting armed psychopaths like Braga.

regards,

Schultz and Harkum also criticized agents for laughing in the backseat of a bureau car after the March 1, 2002, event, a moment captured by a local television station's camera.

Uh, that kind of does it.
