To me it's less worrisome than the Cheney precedent; the man was living in Texas when he decided to run for VP from Wyoming--which he had, admittedly, represented in Congress.Jeb is Jeb, governor of Florida, not Texas. I think the best argument for him would be the total number of votes he has won by. That reflects his margin of victory and the size of the state he won in.
Great point. The other thing to keep in mind is that Jeb lost a close Gov's race to Lawton Chiles in 94. Had he won, Jeb would have been the Republican candidate in 00 not Dubya.
Living in a state that borders Texas and competes with Fla, I have to say the job these brothers have done in their respective states is most impressive. History will look upon them as two of the finest governors of the last 50 years.
