I was a little disappointed in the tribute to June Carter Cash, they didn't even play ANY music from her.
CMT has become the Dixie Chicks Network. Everytime I flip over to it, there they are, in all their chickieness.
I used to enjoy their music, also. Nice harmony. But now I get a pit in my stomach and have to immediately change channels/stations.
* sigh *

I'm guessing that CMT had a deal with the Chicks' agent before the story broke on N's London remark. Last weekend it was a chickathon. Reba nailed it when she said that she doesn't think "it's over". No. It's not by a long shot.
But where did Toby go?? Not there to receive his award?

Anybody have a list of major CMT sponsors? Identify the location of the network's short-hairs and you'll know where to tug.

I'm all for banning the Chicks. Not for any political reason, mind you.
It's because their music is crap.

You're not the only one who notices this slovenly devotion to the chicks by CMT. Prior to the war, and prior to any of her open-mouth controversy, I found myself turning off CMT. I had noticed one night on one of their top 10 video shows (the one in front of a live audience) where the chicks were always number 1 it seemed like for songs that were almost a year old. It was totally an insult and a bore. And this past weekend was no different. CMT has flopped into the ashbin of irrelevant cable channel history at my house.

Dixie Chicks on ABC, Dixie Chicks on CMT, Dixie Chicks on last night's awards, etc........ I think I'm going to invest in kneepads and mouthwash. I'm pretty sure the Chicks' handlers must be using them ALOT with what they're having to do to get all this PR help from the country music and entertainment establishment. You know what they say......a spitter's a quitter!
